Swell de Spirits Swell & Co. #15 Premium Craft Spirits High Ester 2025
Jamaican funk fans are the obvious crowd here: a young, cask-strength blend leaning heavily on Hampden, all overripe pineapple, banana and glue-like esters. At 62.9% the alcohol is punchy but reasonably well tucked in, with a little salted-caramel roundness. Several tasters call it tasty but young — a few even peg it as an "expensive mixer." Fresh, fruity, and unmistakably ester-forward.
- Big pineapple esters
- Well-integrated ABV
- Funky and fruity

How does Swell de Spirits Swell & Co. #15 Premium Craft Spirits High Ester 2025 taste?
Aggregated from 33 community reviews.
Young, punchy Hampden-heavy pineapple-ester bomb Most find it a genuinely enjoyable, ester-heavy Jamaican with big pineapple and banana. The recurring catch: the short aging shows, so it can feel young and a touch thin.

#5465 08.07.2025 Running a few samples while watching a new series about murder on Max. Nose Medium intense, fruity, light wood, overripe, faint smoke, ester, light citrus, light nutts. Palate Round, fresh, medium intense, overripe, light oily, light wood, ester, fruity, light chocolate, light apple, light citrus. Finish Long and warm, light wood, ester, fruity, naturally sweet, light chocolate. Empty glass Chocolate, light caramel, light citrus, banana. Needs to rest for a while to really open up properly.

A Caribbean fruit salad with strong esters. As soon as you open the bottle, you can smell the very dominant pineapple, with a slight hint of banana. On the palate, you get the full pineapple ester drone! Banana and a little caramel on the finish. The alcohol is well integrated despite the high ABV. Not without reason is this a multiple gold medal winner and a real PLV cracker for the price!

Very good value for money. This Jamaican blend is very well-balanced, and I think its short time in caroni casks rounded it out and gave it a salted butter caramel note. Otherwise, we find what characterizes some Jamaicans: lots of fruitiness and esters, but not too much. A guaranteed success!

Second-to-last rum tasted on the Swell stand at RhumFest Paris 2025. A funky, esterized Jamaican. Overripe fruit. Rather pungent alcohol. Good, even if unsurprising because of its déjà vu profile.
Review by TheJackDrop
Not a very objective opinion, but here's my detailed impression (bottle unfortunately empty by Saturday evening, no dedicated photo): N: caramelized apple tart from the oven, buttered. Milk chocolate, exotic fruit salad B: Intense, fresh, round, with tarte tatin, almond financier almond financier, exotic fruits. F: Softer, on baked banana and brioche. Top! At 69€, it's a banger.

Solider Jamaicablend. Für Swell ein ungewohnt gutes PLV. Hat schöne Low Ester tropische Einflüsse.
Review by Louis Zimmermann
An excellent surprise! Power gradually fades, giving way to aromatic complexity: an exotic fruit salad dominated by passion fruit, enriched by esters and a touch of green olive. On the palate, it's an energetic but never aggressive kick. Pineapple asserts itself generously, accompanied by a funky edge and a subtle freshness that adds to the richness of the profile. Perfect with dessert, it's a remarkable tasting experience, as tasty as it is accessible, all the more so as its price remains very reasonable.

Nice powerful blend. Very Hampden and ester forwards.

Rhum Fest Paris 2025 A lot of Hampden in there. Has an extra layer which could be the MMW. Very tasty but feels like an expensive mixer.

On the nose, exotic fruits, pineapple first, followed by banana, herbs and a hint of smoke. On the palate, the same mix of fruit and herbs. The tdl barrel brings roundness, depth and a touch of caramel to the finish. Medium finish. Really nice value for money.

A decent blend that concluded to more than the parts it is made of. But in den end It misses time in aging. Besides the alcohol it feels sometimes a bit thin. But quite nice for independent bottled blends
