If you like fruity, high-ester rum but not the brute force of a Hampden, this unaged Dominican is right in the pocket. Banana and citrus on the nose, floral and vegetal on the palate, turning toward pineapple with water. Surprisingly soft for 55%, a touch sweet, almost syrupy — several tasters flagged a rubbery edge too. Great as a summer mixer, drinkable neat.

8,2:On the nose, flowery, vegetal, fermented molasses, overripe fruits like citrus (lime, mandarine), berries, pungent, smoky, brioche, esters, allspice, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, banana is present, chocolate, caramel and herbaceous tones. 7,8:On the palate, the attack is pungent with esters, fermented, vegetal, flowery molasses, overripe, sour tropical fruits like pineapple, citrus fruits with lime, green fruits.When the rum is well oxidized, the molasses is fresh, flowery with rose, vegetal with mushrooms, spicy, sweet with maple, smoky tones and confectionery are out, some nuts, perhaps rubber. 7,9:The finish is medium long, dry, fermented fruits and vegetal(olive), grassy, spicy molasses complement each other, joined with plastic, soap and metallic patina, smoky whiff. Palate Oily, fresh, fruity, overripe, banana, light berries, faint chocolate, light olive, faint salt. Finish Medium to long, light oily, fresh, fruity, spice, light olive, berries. Empty glass Vanilla, light chocolate, light caramel, faint pear.

Mein erster ungelagerter Domenikaner. Ich bin positiv überrascht. Der Rum kommt insgesamt blumig, pflanzlich und fruchtig daher. Der Alkohol ist doch merklich spürbar, aber dennoch nicht negativ auffallend.

Mountain time trial Tour de France ;-). I like it, it's predominantly herbal, flowery and floral. Clearly banana on the nose, then more pineapple on the palate. Just my thing. But why can it call itself overproof at 55%?

Rhum Fest Paris - Blind tasting 1 I could have never guessed what it was, and not one did either in the room. At the same time, it wasn't anything specificial, yes it has some intensity but not very complex.

First of all, this one as a mixer is really very tasty. Neat it is okay. Surprisingly sweet and fruity. For a better rating it lacks a bit of the proof. I think then it would be a really damn good mixer. More like the easy summer sipper mixer.

Surprising! Very fruity and tart, which I wouldn't have expected from a rum from the Dominican Republic. It tastes a bit like a light Jamaican rum without the brute force. Very mild for 55%, so it's easy to drink. I like it!

Very floral and sweet, but not artificially sweet, almost slightly syrupy. Not particularly complex, but still very well made and delicious. Rather something for the summer. With water, banana and a slight spiciness are added.
