One taster nailed it: dark chocolate, roasted nuts and a "toasted wood" edge, with dried fruit and caramel underneath. This is a classic Port Mourant Demerara — full-bodied, smoky, a touch buttery, with a long dry finish. At 63.1% the alcohol is present but folds in well. People who spent time with it comparing bottles found it a bit less exciting than some other CDI Port Mourants, but still a good pour.

Nice start while the mountain time trial at the Tour de France is running. On the nose mainly dried fruits, also some caramel is recognizable. On the palate a slight sweetness (dark chocolate), also roasted nuts and smoky.

Powerful Demerara with a typical profile of dark molasses, spice, and ripe fruit. On the nose, notes of caramel, tobacco and light wood smoke appear. On the palate full-bodied with toffee, dried fruits and a spicy-bitter structure plus an interesting buttery note. The alcohol is present but well integrated and brings depth. The finish is long, slightly dry and pleasantly warm.

8,4:On the nose, copper, toasted wood notes like butterscotch, burnt sugar, thick, dark chocolate, leather, nuts, spicy, citrus and yellow fruits, plums, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, it becomes medicinal with iodine, dried fruits arise, molasses with herbaceous, flowery touch, black tea and some anise. 8,1:On the palate, the attack is intense, slightly alcoholic, coppery with smoky, toasted wood notes like caramelized burnt sugar, leather, roasted nuts, dark chocolate, spicy, salty, fruity with dried, yellow and citrus fruits, coconut, syrupy, buttery, molasses is herbaceous, earthy with tobacco. 8,2:The finish is medium long, dry, buttery with toasted oak notes like caramel, cocoa, spicy, fruity with dried fruits and dark molasses with black tea, earthy with tobacco. #7002 06.07.2026 Relaxeing with a few samples after a cold few hours on the bike. Watchine Gold Rush on HBO while my wife is applying for an extension of her residency. Pretty nice rum with a good price at release. Medium intense with natural sweetness, sugarcane, floral, fruits and roasted wood.
