Working my way through the last of my Trinidad bottles that aren't Caroni. Haven't been a big fan of many of them. Then I got to this gem. It's a duality for me. Haven't been a huge fan of Trinidad, cognac barreled rum, or cane juice rums. Then this guy comes along with all 3 and bam, it's really nice. Lots of barrel notes going on. The cognac gives it a little sweetness, the wheated bourbon some mouth feel. I'm not getting a lot of the grassiness that came juice rums usually give off. Forgot I paid $224 for the bottle. It's pricy AF but it's been the best Ten Cane rum I've had. Surprised all around with this one!

Super rich red berry and plum aroma on the nose. Background of vanilla, some barrel. Pours dark maroon. In the mouth the barrel is a little sharper, and there are some bitter tannin elements as well. Potpourri, mosquito spray in the finish, medium in length. I like it a little better on the nose than at the very end. Had a bottle split of this thanks to Alex D.
