Brennerei Otto Sigl, Wasserburg a. Inn Oritonga Echter Rum
Most tasters pegged this as Jamaican on the nose before they knew what it was — high esters, overripe tropical fruit, that funky glue note, with young wood and a baked-apple edge underneath. People landed around the low-to-mid 7s and called it one of the better pours in a blind set. The catch a couple flagged: at 55% it turns a touch hot and slightly artificial late on.
- High ester funk
- Tropical fruit
- Intense character

7,6:On the nose, esters, solvents, funky, overripe tropical, citrus fruits, baked apple, herbaceous, grassy molasses, roasted, smoky wood, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, the wood is spicy with allspice, some rubber is out, the molasses is flowery. 7,7:On the palate, the attack is intense, funky with esters, overripe tropical, red, citrus fruits and berries, sweet with roasted wood notes, smoky like pastry, biscuits, sourdough bread, spicy with allspice, as the molasses is herbaceous and vegetal. 7,5:The finish is medium long, dry and furry, tannic, slightly metallic, with roasted, spicy wood and tropical, red fruits..

Weird and Blind tasting @Artur: Erstaunlich intensiver Geschmack! Geschmacklich klare fruchtige, high Ester Jamaika-Noten! Macht richtig Laune!

Interesting stuff. Intense with some funk and fruity notes. My guess was Jamaica with quite some esters and this works well as a comparison imo.

Weird and blind Tasting - angenehme Überraschung!
