Mostly one for curiosity hunters — a Mexican rum that turns up in blind tastings more than on shelves. It's thin and light on the palate, with vanilla, soft wood and a milk-chocolate note that shows up briefly and leaves fast. At 38% there's not much body to hold it together, and the finish is short to almost gone. A country-tick more than a keeper.

First of all, a BIG THANK YOU to TheDunderHut for being part of the Wird&Blind set again. Together with DomM, this task was tackled. Unfortunately, no unicorn was there, but tried great rare stuff that you don't usually get your hands on so easily. The only thing I really missed was the stories about each individual rum in the splitter.

6,8:On the nose, the wood is roasted with nuts, chocolate, cardboard, sweet, gingerbread, burnt sugar, spicy, as the fruits are faint, there musty, floral, herbaceous molasses, hints of soap and metallic patina. 5,5:On the palate, the attack is sweet with roasted wood notes like burnt sugar, chocolate, nuts, spicy, fruity with dried fruits, as the molasses is musty, slightly bitter. Some medicinal notes and metallic patina are also present. 5,6:The finish is rather short, dry and furry with roasted wood notes and dried fruits..

Weird and blind tasting set from Artur. Many thanks for the opportunity to be part of this. I liked this one a bit better, still very alcoholic, but the roastiness comes through a bit better here.

Arturs Weird & Blind Tasting #2: On the nose sweetish with musty red wine barrel. On the palate vanilla, lots of wood and nuts, as well as something metallic, but generally very thin/watery. On the finish only wood and sweetness.

Sample series weird and blind by @thedunderhut. Hmm... in my opinion, this has nothing to do with rum at all... I can't really recognize any aroma there. Bjslang the weakest drop in this series. But interesting what all can call themselves rum

Number 2 from will & blind comes across clearly riper than number 1, with the typical aromas of the light "Spanish" style. After a while in the glass, quite nicely spicy and slightly fruity, but still very thin

I like blind tastings and enjoy getting to know new things, rum from Mexico is also not often in the glass! But if this is the reference, it will stay that way for now - but exciting to try something different, gives a country point and thanks for organizing!

Weird and Blind tasting #2 In the nose notes of sweetness and chocolate. In the mouth it is extremely soft. notes of milk chocolate and vanilla come up briefly in the mouth. the aftertaste is also short to almost non-existent.
