31-07-2025 - Rate 9.0 A really great TDL. 16 years and was it 12 in the tropics. This shows in smell and taste. And great value for money. 105 € COR does it again. They also just released a TDL 8 years which is a great release as well. Nose is methanol, alcohol and burnt sugar. Taste wood, herbal, licorice and rubber. So now finally had number #3 from this The Colours of Rum up spirits T.D.L in the glass. I couldn't really be convinced by the first release, but the third is so-so. For me on the palate very biting/alcoholic unfortunately.

Of course, we have mint here. But this time it doesn't overwhelm you, instead it comes in a pleasant company of herbs, dark berries, and cola! I like that, especially because of the good integration of the mint. If anyone has a bottle to give away... =P

#6389 Need something in between all the whites I have to go through and this one is a nice break off at the end. Now this is a good rum at a very good price tag. Nice and fruity with light floral notes and a mix of spices. Light peppery on the palate and a long finish. Needs to rest for a while to open up properly.

I had opened the bottle during a tasting of several bottles with friends, and we really liked it. But I wanted to give an opinion after a second tasting. The nose is a little overwhelmed by the alcohol, normal at the beginning of the bottle and over 63 degrees. There's red fruit, burnt sugar and a phenol-type chemical. On the palate, it bites, but by the 3rd sip it's beginning to be tamed. Fruity blackcurrant-cherry bitterness, mentholated freshness and coca cola. A touch of rubber. Endless finish! Fresh, black cherry, menthol. Conclusion: a rum tonic!

👃 Mint, menthol, eucalyptus, milk chocolate, vanilla caramel, burnt sugar, black berries, dried currants, light notes of grapefruit and lychee, light essence, hydrocarbons, essential oils, hot tar. The alcohol seems very well integrated. 😋 Herbal and menthol freshness, dried red fruits, currants, blackberries, blackcurrants, Bigarreau Napoleon cherries from my grandparents' orchard, salty licorice, burnt barrel. Good sensation of well-integrated alcohol that boosts all these aromas. A good precise, structured one but lacking a bit of complexity. ⛳ Quite rough, then menthol freshness, more present woody aspect, smoked oak, anise, cola taste, burnt caramel, tobacco, dried green tea leaf, a bit of spicy chocolate lingers long in the mouth and throat. 💡 I loved the Up Spirits Club selection No.1, a TDL 2009 of the most beautiful effect, one of the best 2009s for me. This 2008 is very good but not at the same olfactory level as its big brother. For the release price, it's an excellent QPR.

Here's a very nice TDL. The mint could be more present but the balance is pleasant and it allows different aromas to express themselves, which gives depth and complexity to the profile.

The nose evokes associations with Caroni; rubber and tar are clearly noticeable here alongside the typical TDL markers. On the palate, then, an awesome combo of mint, red fruits, berries, roasted notes, and... cola. A combination that really appeals to me! By the way, the value for money is excellent!

I had the pleasure of serving on the committee to select this TDL from The colors of rum!!! Fruit and spice notes emerge on the nose, accompanied by a light touch of solvent and licorice that give it liveliness and character. The classic balsamic note, typical of the TDL profile, is not missing. The palate is structured and harmonious, with a good balance between sweetness and spice. Its 63% ABV is perfectly integrated, and the resinous and balsamic component, while present, remains well dosed and never intrusive. The finish is long and persistent, with pleasant returns of toasted wood, cocoa and tobacco, completing an intense and satisfying drink. One of the best TDLs drunk!!!

Wow, what a slap! The nose is quite Caroni: oil, dirt, hydrocarbons, blackcurrant, old tires, rubber. We're also on TDL with a little eucalyptus. But we also smell black fruits: blackberries. The nose is aggressive in alcohol. This is a Spiritori TDL, which I find even dirtier. The palate becomes TDL and rivals last year's Spirit Gallery: menthol all over the place, red fruits, the dirty side disappears for this bomb of red fruits (blackcurrant, raspberry, blackberry). The whole is warm and well-integrated with alcohol. A real delight! Finishes with licorice and hints of coca cola. finish: long, mentholated, powerful, woody

Very mentholated nose carried by red fruits. Profile rather in the line of the TDLs of the same year. On the palate, wow, it’s intense. The alcohol is really biting. Way too much for me. Menthol and blackcurrant dominate. Vegetal. Nice but I’ll retest with a drop of water.

I am amazed and really impressed! The alcohol content is definitely noticeable, but flavor-wise this really brings joy. Alongside mint, there are peach, wood, cola, and subtly dirty Caroni notes. Really awesome rum! Great value for money!

Superb tdl, beautiful aromas, great power, red fruits, menthol, spices... a good cocktail for a very good result 🤩 The attack a bit sharp but with 30 mins aeration it’s cooler, and a very nice length 😍😍

COR TDL 2008 – 63.9% Distilled at TDL, aged 11 years in a tropical climate then 5 years in Europe. Bottled cask strength at 63.9% – only 239 bottles. Selected by bloggers from four samples (against a Versailles 2004, a Versailles 2012, and a Clarendon 2010). Nose: alcoholic, red fruits, brown sugar, rubber. Palate: very sharp attack, almost aggressive at first. With a bit of patience, cherry, menthol, and a well-cooked caramel come through. Finish: long, on a bitter dark chocolate. The experience is okay but I’m left a bit unsatisfied. Maybe oxidation will mellow it and make it more interesting over time.

Beautifully rounded rum, completely wet with notes of mint, red fruits, and strong wood, leather, and plenty of herbs. On the palate it's strong, very intense, red dark fruits, woody-leather and lots of herbs. A bit of old pipe tobacco. The finish is nicely intense and long.

In the glass, it is not very viscous, sliding without creating too much adherence to the glass. I expected more viscosity considering that it has a beautiful color in the glass. On the nose, the alcohol is very redundant even after more than thirty minutes in the glass. It is quite fragrant with fruit and sweet notes, which reappear after some time in the glass. After a long time, other aromas begin to emerge on the nose, and the alcohol is somewhat muted, but the alcoholic note remains on the palate. The finish is quite good, but I find the alcoholic note on the palate a little unbalanced. Let's just say it's not my cup of tea. Obviously, it's always a matter of personal taste.

You can really smell the alcohol on the nose. The attack on the palate is alcoholic and after that passage the fruits come through. For me, the first edition Up Spirits #1 is superior to #3.
