Liquid Treasures Worthy Park Rum Session No. 13 2007

Don't expect an ester bomb — this is a restrained, wood-forward Worthy Park where 18 years have tamed the funk. Green banana, pineapple and cherry meet roasted oak, chocolate and baking spice, with only a faint rubber note reminding you it's Jamaican. The catch: at 56% the alcohol runs hot, and several tasters found it never fully settled even after a long rest. A splash of water helps.

The community says

Woody, mature Worthy Park with a hot edge A clean, mature Worthy Park most call solid rather than special. The recurring gripe is the alcohol — poorly integrated for a few, needing water to calm down.

#5669 14.09.2025 Tasting in Copenhagen with good friends. Nose Fresh, light wood, fruity, light earthy, light chocolate, light pineapple, light ester, faint rubber. Palate Round, fresh, light oily, light spicy, wood, light roasted, light chocolate, light earthy, faint smoke, banana, light citrus. Finish Long and warm, light oily, wood, light roasted, dried fruit, citrus, light tea, faint tobacco. This one also benefits from warming it in the hand while swirling it around in the glass.

The nose promises a lot with tropical fruits, as well as cherry, wood and light roasted aromas. On the palate, the alcohol is very strong and does not subside even after 40 minutes in the glass. In addition, the same aromas as in the nose, as well as spices.

Drinkable Worthy Park, with light estery notes, I find fruit (stone fruit, tropical), but also chocolaty notes. The alcohol is unfortunately very present, even a long standing time doesn't make it any better (dilute with water if necessary?).

Nice Worthy Park that has nice fruit, coconut, cask infusion. For my taste it has slight whisky hints?! Perhaps stored in whisky barrels?

Worthy Park

Avg Rating 8.0/10 over 360 Rums

Worthy Park is Jamaica's true cane-to-glass estate. Its land was granted in 1670, it runs the island's oldest and most efficient sugar factory, and it makes rum from molasses it produces itself. After falling silent in 1962, the distillery was rebuilt from scratch in 2005 and now bottles some of the most respected modern estate rum in the Caribbean.
