A subtle but nice rum from Golden Devil. It has the delicate spicy notes that I find in a lot of Mauritius rum, but this a bit weak in terms of flavor. Drinks much lower than proof and probably could get punched up to 60ish to concentrate some of the flavor.

Poured from a bottle that's been open for ~9 months, and is ~80% full. Unusual but good rum, almost gin like characteristics. Good herbal and tea notes. Alleged cane juice distillate coming out through some lemon and other citrus notes on the palate. Overall, a good rum (to me) that I see being very divisive in flavor. Edit: 21/8/2026 - Adjusted score from 7.9 to 7.6
