Cañada Alambique Serrano 1st Edition 3 Años
Drinks best in a cocktail — several tasters call mixing its real purpose, where the cinnamon and burnt-sugar edge shine. Neat it's cane-juice-driven with heavy oak and cedar, plenty of baking spice and gingerbread, but it turns thin at 46% with a short finish. One reviewer flagged a bitter, tannic note on the back end that holds it back.

Pub The Rumah Rotterdam April 2026. Nah, I really find this one terribly bad. It almost goes in the direction of spiced rum, very wintry, especially gingerbread and cinnamon are noticeable. Nah, this rum was really no goal.
Review by abaker-rum
A pleasant medium intensity aroma with cucumber and watermelon notes that mix with cinnamon. The cinnamon comes through very intensely in the palate with some stewed fruit and woody notes. The finish is fairly short.

As a sipping rum, it's not bad but not amazing, primarily because the finish is too short and it feels a little thin at this lower proof. As a mixing rum, which is kind of its purpose maybe(?), it's pretty divine. It carries much of the same flavor profile as their Blend #4 (see my more detailed review there), plus a slightly buttery element reminiscent of Smith & Cross. The only down side is that, for a mixing rum, it's much more expensive than, for example, Smith & Cross.

Baking spice and maple syrup on the nose with a fantastic mouthfeel for a 3yr proofed rum. I’d be at 9-10 if it were these two qualities alone, but the finish has an astringent-tanic note that is similar to what I taste in spirits that are over-aged. Literally a bitter unpleasant flavor that holds this bottle back.
Review by MoMcGurk
The aroma was a heavy molasses and some sort of red wine. I did not pick up the aromas in the taste, as that was more oak and cedar. Not unpleasant, but surprising given the strong molasses aroma. The burn was less than expected. Mixed was decent, with the cedar being more dominant than the oak, and somewhat of a burnt taste.
