#6236 16.01.2026 Running a few samples after work and a nice week at my new job. Nose Medium intense, ester, fruity, overripe, glue, light olive, anise, light mint. Palate Warm, oily, fresh, medium intense, fruity, overripe, ester, citrus, light vegetal, mint, light polish, glue, anise, olive, light salt. Finish Long and warm, banana, light citrus, naturally sweet, faint wood, light mint, light olive, light salt. Empty glass Mint, light licorice, dried fruit, olive.

Well, the other high ester from Vagabond was definitely better, here the alcohol is not well integrated, you can definitely feel the 10% more. Otherwise a lot of esters, but also glue, olive, and brine.

Tested both neat and as a mixer. Neat, you definitely can't deny the glue and ester notes, they're quite pronounced. As a mixer, the profile rounds off nicely and you get a very drinkable 🍸 drink.

Similar flavor profile to its co-bottlings with lots of vegetal, tropical fruits and esters/glue. But with this one, you can clearly feel more acidity on the palate and finish. Would definitely be interesting to compare this in a drink.

On the nose: mild intensity, light ester notes. Glue and olive brine notes dominate the profile. Overripe pineapple notes pop up here and there. Taste:Intense and warm at first. Glue and olive brines with some acidic notes dominate the profile. Mouthfeel changes a little bit oily. Overall, its quite thin. Hints of pineapple notes. Finish: Warm, Acidic brine notes. Dry. Salty notes. Medium finish. Grand Arome notes dominate this blend. I think rum was a bit alcoholic and notes were too thin for my liking, also the overall palate didnt quite work for me.

WTF2 Explosion 59%: "Unaged" blend of Grand Arôme Galion and High Ester Jamaica. Both aged for a year in vats and then matured for three months in terracotta amphorae. The assembly is then rested two months before bottling. With an ester rate of 833 g/Hlap and more than 2150 g/Hlap of volatile compounds. Less than 150 bottles. On the nose first very gluey, but quickly develops notes of olives, light vinegar and tropical fruits, mainly pineapple, bit estery, it is also quite fresh and bit floral, all this accompanied by quite a strong menthol. The taste copies the nose quite well with fruity, sweet-soury notes, light glue, the menthol note is however absent. But overall the taste seems to me quite flat and subtle although the alcohol is integrated well.
