Overall an OK Latino rum with a little too weak taste. It’s fruity, spicy and sweet without being extremely sweet. Recognizable aromas and flavors is raisins, coconut, vanilla, pepper, chocolate and caramel.

#4980 18.12.2024 Enjoying a few samples at home. Nose Wood, roasted, light chocolate, dried fruits, light vegetal, faint caramel, spice. Palate Round, wood, light roasted, light caramel, dried fruit, light citrus, spice, light spicy. Finish Medium to long, round, medium spicy, wood, faint smoke, dried fruit, light citrus, light caramel. The empty glass has stronger caramel, chocolate and tobacco.

A French brand that bottles a Guatemalan rum that has become very popular among Hispanic rums. Typically caramelized, spicy and woody notes, with a hint of fruit and tobacco. The dilution in the mouth is noticeable, it's very light, slightly honeyed and alcoholic, quite a lot of caramel, spices, nuts and a hint of mocha. The finish is short, slightly more roasted and woody. Luscious but terribly basic, this is an all-purpose rum for neophytes.

Shop visit Weinquelle Lühmann Hamburg April 2025. Here I agree with the reviews :) Relatively nice nose consisting of vanilla and caramel. On the palate we also have vanilla and caramel, as well as some wood. Decent rum.

Started on the nose with some really pleasant yellow fruits and a hint of a pleasant Woody notes. While drinking you get first some apple notes rounded in vanilla. You Can feel dark chocolates notes aswell as yellow fruits. In the aftertaste you really have a long grapefruit taste finished by Pepper notes. Texture IS super velvety not coating the mouth but Can be felt like a juice.

Delicious but there’s some sugar added here. Nose: Subtle nose with toasted vanilla and maybe slight spice. Zero alcohol scent. Mouth: Caramel and Tiramisu, delicious dessert notes. Great flavors and good strength to them. Finish: Appropriately long, easy to savor and be reflective over. No rush as it lingers well. Very pleasantly surprised by this Spanish style rum. As a dessert sipper this is probably pushing an 8. There is a decadence to its sips that is extremely agreeable. However, like most Spanish style rums don’t expect a lot of heft or body here, their character’s tend to be light and this is no exception. A pretty great rum, plain and simple. Points off for the dosage.

Initially restrained on the nose but very nice on the palate. For me, it tastes typically Guatemalan, pleasantly sweet and nicely woody. What I can taste is honey. Perhaps not complex enough for some, but still a delicious drop.

A light and easy-to-drink rum. You find the usual markers: vanilla, caramel, roundness. Light woody notes. Discreet coffee at the end of the palate. It's pleasant, sweet, easy. However, no length or complexity.

It's a pleasant rum, easy to drink with a nice nose... The taste is relatively simple and maybe lacks a bit of complexity. The slight bitterness at the end of the mouth isn't unpleasant but the duration is very short. Good rum but nothing more!!!

Meine RumRatings Review von vor 6 Jahren: In der Nase ist der Rum zurückhaltend. Mild kommen süße fruchtige Noten mit etwas Eiche. Beim Trinken ist der Rum mild und schmeckt nach Vanille und Rosinen. Eine angenehme Süße paart sich mit Eichen- sowie Fassnoten. Man schmeckt das der El Pasador einen guten Anteil länger gereiferter Rums hat. Der Alkohol ist erstaunlich gut eingebunden und wird nie unangenehm. Auch beim Abgang stört er nicht und nimmt die Aromen des Rums gut auf. Melasse und Holz sind im Abgang erkennbar welcher nicht zu früh nachgibt. Der El Pasador de Oro XO ist für 40Euro ein erstaunlich runder und vollmundiger Rum welcher sich nicht verstecken muss und seinen Landsmann mit dem "Z" alt aussehen lässt. Er macht viel richtig und balanciert seine milden Aromen gut.

Sweet on the front and woody on the back end with some slight olive brine on the finish. A good neat sipper for sure. A splash of water helps bring out more of the sweet notes and tamp down the ethanol

Nice rum, would consider buying it. Tastes mainly of spice and pleasant in the mouth. Smells strong and has a strong taste as well but finishes off very smooth. I think this one would be a good starting point for rum newcomers - a door to a variety of options rum give you.

Received as a gift sample in 20cl. We have a rum with a very woody and spicy side. Quite a bit of sweetness and warmth in the mouth. I didn't find it ultra complex. But it's not unpleasant. Some vanilla and roasted notes can be felt. A good rum, nothing more.
