Anyone who likes their rum young, raw and closer to a fruit brandy will find plenty here. Several tasters say it smells more like Obstler than rum — pear, banana, apricot, very ripe raisin, with young oak that reads older than its 11 months. The palate is oily and coats the mouth, fruity and grassy, with a molasses sweetness running into the finish. Interesting, if a touch unfinished.

8,1:On the nose, fresh, round, thick, roasted wood notes like sourdough bread, pastry, caramelized, brown sugar, sweet, dark molasses with licorice, honey, medicinal, dried fruits, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, molasses is minty, vegetal, candied, banana and pear arise, burnt notes with bacon, oak with chocolate, nuts. 8,3:On the palate, the attack is fruity like fruit schnapps with dried fruits, raisins, apricots, pears and plums, tropical fruits, marmelade like, wood is roasted with nuts, dark chocolate, leather, brown sugar, slightly burnt, spicy with allspice, dry, as molasses is thick, candied, vegetal, dark with licorice, black tea, sweet with honey. 8,1:The finish is medium long, dry&tannic, with sugarcane hints, roasted oak notes like leather, marzipan, nuts, warm with spicy touch, molasses is grassy, dark with black tea, herbaceous and fruits dried with figs, citrus and yellow, green. Verkostet auf dem German Rum Fest 2026. Im Grunde eine gute Abfüllung. Denke aber, das dieser Rum einige Zeit im Glas braucht um sich zu entwickeln. Ist an der Nase doch sehr alkoholisch. Aber auf so einer Messe hat man nicht unbedingt die Zeit. Muss nochmal in ruhe probiert werden.

Tasted as a sample. Very interesting and attractive nose with good fruit smells like pear, banana and apricot. It seems sweet. A bit of alcohol also comes through. The palate continues to be fruity, oily aspect. After several sips a spicy sensation. Sweet fruity finish and brown sugar. A bit of marzipan. I would say this Savanna goes off the beaten path and offers a pleasant tasting.

Junger Savanna mit rohem Profil. In der Nase frisches Zuckerrohr, vergorene Noten und eine leichte Lösungsmittel Note. Am Gaumen direkt, grasig und würzig mit wenig Reife und etwas mehr Jugend. Wirkt eher wie ein Zwischenprodukt als eine fertige Abfüllung. Interessant zum Probieren, aber aromatisch noch ziemlich unfertig.

#6774 09.05.2026 A small online tasting with my friend while talking about which Rum Events to participate in 2027. A pretty OK rum especially if you look at the price tag. A fruity rum with nice spiece, mint and some licorice. There is a faint leather note in the profile.

On the nose something completely new; reminds more of fruit brandy than rum. Still, tropical fruits and young wood can be smelled. On the palate again the fruit brandy note with tropical fruits. For the sweetness, which lasts into the finish, an intense molasses note provides it.

Nose very different from what I know. An earthy, clayey side, peach, apricot, very very ripe grape bringing a dark side, quite marked woodiness for such a young rum. It's crazy, the nose would make you think of a very old juice. The palate is very fat, it really coats the palate. You feel a bit more youth and liveliness at the end of the mouth. Tropical fruits and a slight herbal side. The finish is long with the markers of the palate, still wrapped in this oily juice. Really excellent work on such young juices. Good value for money.
