A nose of old wood with lots of bitterness and tannins. Dried fruits, especially prunes, leather. The palate is marked by old wood and leather with a very pleasant molasses side. The alcohol is very well integrated. The finish is rather long, marked by bitter old wood and molasses at the very end. A rum that will delight fans of extreme bitter woodiness.
