Not a very unusual young Jamaican. Sure, with the expected fruity ester notes that turn a bit fermented, but also with slightly mineral notes reminiscent of olive and also floral hints. The 75% is well integrated despite the sharpness. An exciting selection that could be used as an overproof rum for extraordinary cocktails.

Johannes Blind-Tasting No.9: Puhhh... it smells and tastes heavily of alcohol.. Ester and sharpness are also present... It seems to have a very high ABV and is accordingly very astringent. Like the predecessor No.8, it's only good for mixing. Barely drinkable neat.

Many thanks Johannes for this blind tasting. #No.9 Delicious fruity floral fresh nose... strawberries, lemon, acidity, unripe banana and ester notes. Here also relatively high ABV (estimated 67-72%). On the palate Very dry in the mouth... somewhat alcohol-sharp (not bad). Less fruit, more ester but somehow not the typical ones (Jamaica and co) mmh... Bitterness and chocolate on the finish.

Blind tasting #9: funky, tropical fruits and solvent on the nose. High proof Jamaica. As I get quite some banana - worthy park maybe?🤔 On the palate I‘m more in Hampden territory. Akin to Rum Fire 🤔what ever it is, it is quite tasty (and very high proof). Good one. Cheers, Johannes for the set - was a blast to taste.

Well, a little highlight again at the end. Nice highproof rum. Packs a punch, I can well imagine it as a mixer. One of the favorites from the blind sample set. Great interesting selection, although most didn't really suit my taste.

I'm going straight for Hampden. I place this olive note with brine there. Also ester notes, although I don't think it's high ester. You can feel the alcohol, but within limits. Still, I think, white and fresh, quite high alcohol content (70%+). Or maybe Savanna? I stick with Hampden because of the special ester notes (and no strawberry yogurt).

I have a Hampden HGML here on nose and palate. For drinking neat, it's too intense and alcoholic for me. Certainly good as a mixer.

Blind tasting set from Johannes (thanks for that): Nose with fruit (banana?), glue and solvent. Decent power. On the palate also very strong, estimated around 70%. Ester, fruit, something vegetal and no wood. Not bad at all.

Johannes Bild tasting. Many thanks for this opportunity! 😊 Decent ABV, with nice fruits and esters. Definitely brings good complexity in cocktails. A bit tiring neat. Jamaica funk is there, but not typical & clearly recognizable for me.

Nice intense ester-heavy nose. Tropical fruits, cucumber and lime, and a bit of soap... on the palate then floral, cucumber-like and burnt esters. Overall certainly very good for overproof daiquiris etc., but overall too floral and soapy for me...
