With the 2025 blend, we're hitting a more complex and darker profile on the nose again. Quite a bit of depth and complexity. Noticeably more DDL herbs, leather, and dried fruits. I like it. Very nicely balanced on the palate. Candied herbs, milk chocolate, and dried fruits. Very nice.

Anyone who swears by the Black Tot 50th Anniversary is more than well served with the 2025 edition. An absolutely positive surprise! The clearly noticeable Caroni components could have played a part in this.

Well, slowly this Black Tot series is improving again. But unfortunately not really a big jump up compared to the bottlings from recent years. Solid rum, you can grab it once in a while, but it's not a must.

Surprisingly woody and roasty on the nose. Then much fruitier and more complex on the palate. All in all, a successful black tot blend, even if I remember the earlier bottlings as being somewhat stronger.

A well-made navy blend that fits seamlessly into the rest of the range. Aromatically, I primarily have Diamond and Uitvluigt here alongside some Worthy Park. Overall, it doesn't really blow me away, but it's well made if you like the profile.

Rich, luxurious and well balanced blend of the constituent countries iconic flavour profiles. It is dangerously drinkable. There is so much in the way of taste from all the components which could be listed but at the same time I think it is one that is best enjoyed in the round and not overly dissected. It’s just a lovely rum. Personally I would note that I think it is a big improvement on the 2024 which leaned too heavily on a Foursquare profile (which while good, wasn’t what I would look for in a navy/ black tot blended rum), and so it is back to a more balanced blend, or one which uses a greater proportion of Guyana in the mix which, rightly or wrongly, I appreciate more for a navy style rum.

Whisky Live Paris 2025 - to be tasted again to confirm the score and notes Another blend that reverts the descending trend, the 2025 Master Blender is a good navy rum. Demerara and Jamaica notes mix well and overall this is what i'm expecting from a Black Tot

Woody, nutty aroma on the nose. A nice round blend on the palate. Quaffable for me. A nice edition of the black tots but not one that bludgeons me. Actually in the ranks of expectation.

Blind tasted 04/03/26 A really decent nose, reminiscent of a great Guyana. All the things you’d expect: dried fruit or mince pie, slight resin, and lots of wood spice. There’s musk and vanilla, with prominent raisins. Slight fermented fruit underneath, plus a hint of that leather-saddle note you get in Jamaican rum 🤔. Nutty aromas too. Overall, beautiful, complex, and quite fresh. Later, some lovely sweet candy notes emerge. On the palate there’s leather and a bit of wax, very punchy alcohol, and some savouriness. More nuts and a tonne of dry spice, especially unsweetened cinnamon. With water, more resin comes out, along with a strange hardware-store plastic note—like the garden section near the fertiliser 🤯🤯, and the nose becomes sweeter. A slight astringent dryness lingers, along with that resinous edge & a medium long finish & complex beast 8/10 Revealed…Ahhhhh nice…that would explain the complexity… it’s a blend of some high en shit! & picked out the worthy park

Good continuation of the series. Doesn't come close to the 50th Anniversary, but really good again this time. The shares in Caroni and Last Conseignment have been increased. Guyana present with Barbados as a quantity filler. Belongs in the collection to enjoy.

30-08-2025 - Rate 8.2 German Rum Festival Moving on to the new Black Tot. Always exciting to taste what they have “cooked” up for us. Fan of the amount of information that always put out with a new bottle. What rums and how much does the bottle contain. Nose with wood, dried fruits and caramel. Palate with wood, roast and spices. Medium finish with wood and dried fruits. Not the worst Black Tot but not the best eather.
