Nobilis Uitvlugt No. 50 PM 1992
Several tasters were surprised how light this old Port Mourant is — both in color and in wood. What you get instead is dried fruit, cherry, plum, and the "pencil shavings" note that runs through nearly every review, with tropical fruit and a touch of smoke. The 56.4% is well integrated. A few note the finish fades faster than 32 years should give you.

How does Nobilis Uitvlugt No. 50 PM 1992 taste?
From community reviews · summarized with AI
Fresh, fruity old PM with pencil-shaving wood Most find it a fresh, fruity, well-balanced continental PM with lovely dried fruit and cherry. The recurring gripes: a lighter-than-expected wood profile and a finish that disappears a bit quick.

Truly an anniversary bottling. Lots of cherry on the nose, along with tropical fruit and some spices. Candied fruit provides the sweetness. A real fruit bouquet of tropical and dried fruits on the palate. Here you can also taste the longstanding wood/barrel influence, but in a pleasant strength. There is also caramel and spices. The finish is again very fruity with light wood notes. Grandiose bottling!

I must admit: yesterday's review by crazyforgoodbooze could have been mine. Except that I would have spelled "pencil shavings" without an "h." 😉 But in terms of content, he took the words right out of my mouth. I'm very sorry about the anniversary bottling.

Fresh but still mature. This 32 year old PM doesn't compare to its old school brethren (not by a long shot) ... but it's still quite a nice rum. However, I don't agree with the high scores with a 9 in front - especially in view of the difference to its cousins from the 70s.

A very balanced herbal spicy PM.. I quite like it.. the alcohol is also very well integrated. The strong herbal note runs from the nose to the finish.. which is ultimately very short

German Rum Festival 2025, Berlin. A nose not as dark as I expected for a 32-year-old Uitvlugt. Tropical fruits, red fruits too (cherry and plum), a pronounced but rather young wood without heaviness. A beautiful complex nose with a hint of smokiness. The palate is immediately more reserved, less fruity, less fresh, a bit diluted and less complex. The dried fruits partially replace the beautiful fresh fruits. The wood is more pronounced and the lack of strength is noticeable. Well, I'm being harsh but it's also true that the nose enchanted me. The finish is quite long, tannic and balanced.

8,8:On the nose, fresh with grassy, flowery molasses, pencil shavings, citrus and red fruits like cherry, roasted wood notes like chocolate, spicy with anise, polish, quite intense, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, green fruits, banana and mango arise, allspice and vanilla, various roasted notes with nuts, caramel, leather, smoky, meaty, fresh tea. 8,8:On the palate, the attack is fresh, dry with chamomile, grassy, flowery and herbaceous molasses, sweet with honey, there are pencil shavings, fruity with dried, citrus, tropical fruits, plum, cherry, as the wood is roasted with confectionery, caramel, smoky, spicy with allspice. When the rum is well oxidized, tannins come out, medicinal notes are stronger with wax, burnt rubber, polish. 8,7:The finish is long, dry&tannic, balanced, with notes from palate lingering on.

I actually prefer the tropical PMs (even though I've only had a few in the glass so far), but this continental PM is also pretty tasty. Very green/herbaceous on both the nose and palate. Alcohol is very well integrated, oily texture. Very good continental PM!

18-07-2025 - Rate 8.8 13-03-2026 - Rate 9.0 Uitvlugt PM is usually not my favorit. I’m more a Enmore or SWR kind of man. But thes 50th bottle anniversary for Nobilis is quit good. It has more dried fruits and wood than a Uitvlugt PM usually has 11-07-2026 - Rate 9.1

On the nose: Fresh, light wood, mild intensity on the nose. Pencil shavings being the main note. Light roast. Plum notes. Balanced. Surprisingly fruity and quite light wood notes for very old rum. Taste: Warm and balanced mouthfeel. Light wood, spicy with a little bit of smoke. Then you get pencil shavings notes. Plum notes. Rich and balanced. Good level of intensity, abv is integrated very well. Finish: Warm, woody, pencil shavings. Dry. I really enjoyed sipping this sample. Surprisingly light on woody notes for such a old rum. Good, rich flavours and balanced all the way to the end. This has to be the first rum where I taste pencil shaving notes and i actually liked it a lot.

Nice choice made for the No.50 I was a little skeptical at first after pouring, as it was quite light in color for the time it had been in the barrel. What I like is the interplay of aromas. The wood is not too dominant, which one would have expected given the storage time. A good companion to the cigar.

Very impressive Guyana rum from Nobilis. It has an unusually light color for the long storage time, but this does not detract from the taste. Very intense after wood and dried fruit with a long, warm finish.
Review by Mirco
Very mature Uitvlugt with a classic Guyana profile. On the nose dark fruits, wood, a bit of leather and tobacco, plus a nice spicy depth. On the palate dry and strong with oak, dark fruit, spices and a slightly tart note. The long aging brings a lot of depth without overpowering the rum. Overall a complex, characterful Guyana that I really like.

The 1992 Uitvlugt releases are often an aromatic potpourri of styles - here you get continental PM as well as VSG and Uitvlugt together, resulting in impressive aromatic complexity: citrus fruits, tea, green pepper, anise, vanilla, mineral notes, sweetness that reminds me of caramel and popcorn. Complex, yet balanced - the whole thing plays at a very high level. Top.
Review by Buddudharma
Port Mourant is one of those profiles where continental aging works best in my opinion, as here as well. From memory, there are still much finer and more complex examples, e.g. the 1997 vintage. Despite everything, a very nice profile, which it should be for the price asked.

I really like the pm Mark! It actually comes across as rather young, even in color (probably a well-used cask). Taste-wise, it's nicely rounded, yet not boring because all the PM aromas are fully present. More on the fruity side, less olive and salt. I really like it!
Review by Filip Šikula
The nose is a beautiful escape, full of fruit, wood shavings, honey, and cherries. The taste is dominated by the sweetness of dried fruit, cherries, and spices with a noticeable influence of wood. A very pleasant piece for the anniversary bottling.

Tasted at GRF2025 Surprised they had a bottle with them to taste. A very interesting rum to be honest, I had expected that the wood would be much more present in the rum, but it was rather underwhelming in that sense. What also surprised me was that there was a very distinct eucalyptus taste, just as you'd expect from Trinidadian rums. All in all, happy that I have tried this rum. It is a (very) good rum, I just had different expectations of it.
Review by DutchRumPirate
The color surprised me. Lighter than expected. The aroma is soft with lots of floral and a bit fruity notes. Light nutty notes. The flavor is versatile. Flowers, plums, the barrel itself, tropical fruits, caramel, and a touch of dry smoky. The finish is spicy with a bite. I don't find it overwhelming. It's even a bit short. Overall, I expected something different/more. It's a good rum with nice notes. But no wow factor.
Review by Marko Finta
Excellent light rum, the color doesn't match PM Guyana but the taste and alcohol are perfectly integrated, the aroma remains in the glass long after drinking. Golden color and a rum that definitely has something to say. Nobilis did not disappoint with the selection as always :)

Mild, integrated, full od taste, Uitvlugt profile. Unfortunately the taste dissapers in few minutes.

Jubilee fiftieth bottling of the Danish Nobilis Rum. Guyana, vintage 1992, 32 years old, single cask and cask strength 56.4%. Only 50 bottles were produced in total. The PM designation refers to the legendary double wooden pot still Port Mourant, which was located in Uitvlugt at the time of distillation. After the distillery closed in 1999, it was moved to Diamond. The aging was a combination of tropical and continental environments, but the exact ratio is not disclosed. 👃 For such an old Port Mourant, the nose is surprisingly fresh and fruity. Cherries, plums, tropical and candied fruit, light caramel, tea, anise, and a bit of smoke. The typical wood reminiscent of a freshly sharpened pencil and a slight hint of polish are present. The cask is noticeable but definitely doesn’t overpower the rum. 👅 On the palate, the rum is warm, drier, and pleasantly balanced. Dried fruit, plums, cherries, caramel, spices, herbs, and again shavings of pencil wood. Gradually, tannins, light smokiness, and mineral to medicinal notes appear. The alcohol at 56.4% is very well integrated. The finish is dry, spicy, and tannic, with wood, dried plums, and a touch of caramel. It’s pleasant but fades a bit faster than one would expect from a 32-year-old rum. Overall, it’s a rather elegant, fresh, and fruitier Port Mourant than a dark, heavy wooden beast from the old school. Surprisingly light and still lively for 32 years. Complex and very drinkable, though the taste and finish don’t quite reach the level of the great nose.
Review by Martin Švojgr
Not too intense nose with a hint of dried fruit, plums, wood. On the palate, tannins, baked fruit, and cherry come in. After drinking for a while, the aroma developed, it is more intense, but the taste seems more bitter to me, even too much.

Continental apple profile. Super
Review by crazyforgoodbooze
A good old primarily continental aged Port Mourant. Still, I don't really warm up to this profile, even though this is one of the better ones. Pencil shavings✏️, lots of wood, yellow fruits, a bit of caramel, slightly smoky and lots of tannins on the finish. The alcohol could be a bit better integrated, overall a good balance and complexity. Unfortunately, the finish is quite short and fades quickly. Still, I'm not into pencils! 😀✏️
