#6048 07.12.2025 The final batch of the unaged samples I got. Watching the new IT> Welcome to Derry, which I think is pretty good. Nose Intense, fruity, overripe, ester, light glue, light olive, light anise, faint rubber, banana, light citrus. Palate Oily, intense, warm, fruity, overripe, ester, citrus, light glue, light anise, light mint, peppery, light dried fruit, faint rubber. Finish Oily, peppery, warm, pineapple, anise, light mint, faint mineral. Empty glass Pineapple, light anise, faint floral, light rubber, faint mint. Needs to rest for a good while to really settle and open up a truie bouquet of flavours. Price to quality is very good in my mind.
Im Vergleich zu dem Vagabond Explosion den ich hier parallel dazu im Glas sowohl pur als auch als Mixer im Glas hatte, hat mir dieser noch einen Ticken besser geschmeckt. Als Mixer auch überaus süffig.
This sounds like a interesting blend combining rums from Martinique, Jamaica and a distillate of Folle Blanche. On the nose: Martinique rum dominates the profile. Olive brine notes, grassy and vegetal notes. I dont really get strong notes from the Jamaican rum. Pineapple notes are in the background. Taste: Warm, but smooth mouthfeel. I get notes from Jamaican rums in light pineapple, light ester notes. Once you work the rum in your mouth a little bit you get those fresh, green, grassy notes from Martinique rum with little bit of eucalyptus notes in the background. Finish: Fresh, warm, green, herbal. Hints of pineapples in the background. Dry. Interesting blend. To me, the blend is leaning more towards Martinique rum and it tasted like the Jamaican rum was more at the back in this blend. Not interesting for sipping on its own, but interesting to try out in a set off different rums.
