Nobilis Diamond No. 51 (14. GRF) REV 2014
Anyone who already loves the Diamond REV mark will recognize this 2014 vintage right away: dark wood, dried figs and dates, leather, chocolate and a roasted, almost burnt-sugar edge. At 61.4% it's young and a touch rough at first, so give it air. Several tasters rank it behind the 2006s, but call it a "nice young REV" worth the glass.
- Classic REV markers
- Dark roasted wood
- Long mocha finish

How does Nobilis Diamond No. 51 (14. GRF) REV 2014 taste?
Aggregated from 51 community reviews.
Young, woody Demerara REV at cask strength Most agree it carries the full REV profile but shows its youth — a bit hot and rough early, lighter on complexity than older vintages. Good, not great; rest it and it improves.

The typical REV profile is unmistakable, caramel, toffee, dried fig, orange soda. Allspice, mocha, toasted barrel on the palate. Not bad, but I see the 2006 REV a little further up the points shelf

Guyana quite young in its tasting. A rather complex nose of wood, toffee, orange and leather. But with a dominance of spices. On the palate, the attack is easy, the roasted wood replaced by a bitter root and licorice. The spices are still present. Medium finish. A pleasant and accessible way to discover this distillery.

Typical "young" Diamond REV profile. Very round, spicy and crisp and intense. All the familiar markers are where you want them, alcohol well integrated. Not a world first, but well made!

A rum tasted at the GRF in 2025. A sweet nose, with molasses (bitter) and caramel. Wood, leather and tropical fruit. The palate is rather full-bodied, with mostly vanilla wood and caramel. It's good, but also lacks complexity and depth. The finish is rather short, with wood, caramel and stewed fruit.

Durchaus gelungen

The REV DNA in this more recent vintage is clearly distinguishable. Not very surprising, obviously. However, the twist towards notes of coal and (heavily) buent sugar is very much dominating. Even after a couple of weeks in the opened bottle, this is only moderately moderated. I‘d not say this is bad per se, as this is a defining characteristic of the REV profile imho, but clearly worse versus the 2006 vintage (and the 1994s, obviously) at this point in time/aging. Very curious to see how the 2014 vintage will develop with some more years in the casks.

02.09.2025 Already having a retaste 😊 --------------- #5603 30/31.08.2025 Tasted at the Germen Rum Fest, where I met a lot of the guys and also a lot of new faces. This release is a milder REV, but still has all the expected REV flavours you're normally looking for. I like it and I bought 2 bottles so that I can share it with friends and colleagues.

Messebewertung: Leckerer REV, der in der Nase noch etwas verhalten ist, im Gaumen aber eine wahre Geschmacksexplosion auslöst. Finde die Gewürze persönlich etwas zu markant im Gaumen. Alkohol sehr präsent

Great REV, almost bitter on the nose at first, like black tea that has steeped too long. On the tongue, there is initially a lot of dark, solid wood, oak or even heavier in the direction of mahogany. There is also a light caramel sweetness, vanilla and dark fruit. Needs some time in the glass to become round and smooth, before that it seems very rough and impetuous. But that also has its charm.

Leckerer junger REV.

Guter rum, mir aber deutlich zu viel Melasse und Lakritz- Noten.

2014, the next REV vintage. Recognizable as Demerara on the nose, but I wouldn't classify it as REV for now. A little more familiar on the palate: Woody, dried fruit, a slight herbal note. Overall, however, somehow nothing really. Maybe in a few years, but at the moment it's clearly 94 >> 06 >> 14. Let's wait and see what the future brings.

Review by Johnny Rumcask
Very nice REV nose, unfortunately the taste can't keep up: some dried fruit, dark notes, woody, slight bitterness. A slight off-note disappears with a little time. The lack of age is noticeable in the low complexity. For me, a solid entry-level REV, good but not very good.

30-08-2025 - Rate 8.4 German Rum Festival Tasted this rum at Nobilis Warehouse Tasting # 2, half a year ago. Before it was bottled. And it’s still a very good rum. Love the “dark” profile it has. Thick and oily. Nose of wood, roast, dried fruits and leather. Palate that goes nice along with the smell. Toast, leather, wood and dried fruits/dates. Medium finish with wood and spices as the dominant once.

Nase direkt kräftig lecker Guyana; Zunge ähnlich, tolle Würze, kräftig, nicht scharf, leicht schokoladig, bissel Lakritze, toll! ,

Tasted at GRF opening party Good Nobilis, but rather on the lower end of all the Nobilis I have tasted. Nevertheless, still a nice bottling.
