The surprise here is Japanese Mizunara oak on a Martinique agricole — it shows up as coconut, vanilla and toasted almond over fresh sugarcane. Tasters get yellow plum, a floral touch and light caramel, with the 52.5% and wood sitting quietly in the background. Several call it fresh and easy-drinking, and most prefer it to the earlier black-bottle Équilibre.

First discovery at WLP 2025: a very beautiful blend signed Neisson. I particularly appreciate the freshness of this rum, enhanced by the characteristic woodiness of the house. A floral touch completes the whole. A great success.

#5777 28.09.2025 Day two of the Whisky Live 2025, which this year looks better organized/arranged inside. Like so many other releases from Niesson, this one is also very smooth and delicate. The profile is well rounded with nice citrus, sugarcane, coconut and light caramel. The wood and ABV are barely noticable in the profile. An easy drinker in my mind.

Tasting on 08.07.2026 RX 24807 Neisson Whisky Watcher sample Nose: Mizunara cask, sugarcane juice. Palate: Coconut, yellow plum. Floral hint and caramelized almond, vanilla and strong spice notes from the Mizunara cask. Spicy finish. Glass: Mizunara cask. Tasting “In the cave”

The nose welcomes us with lots of freshness and indulgence. With its cane juice mixed with its mizunara cask, the aromas lean towards coconut, vanilla and caramel, without losing its agricole DNA. The cask is not left behind with a fine woodiness. The attack on the palate is lively in alcohol but concentrated in fruity and spicy tastes. Fresh cane blends with coconut water, with some fruits (yellow plum). The young oak is in the background, always with coating caramel, this vanilla. The finish is quite short, which is a bit of a shame. On the other hand, it is an ESB, so you shouldn't expect too much. It's simple, accessible and fresh. I much prefer it to the first balance (black bottle), which is harder to access and requires a long aeration time.

A beautiful nose on the coconut, interesting woodiness, quite full-bodied on the palate with lots of almond. I already know I'll buy a bottle because I appreciate the artist who works on these designs, but I feel we're not that far from the first balance. No big change.

Profile Balance 2025 – 52.5% (white bottle): a marriage between Profile 107 and Japanese Mizunara oak barrels, a rarity in rum. Verdict: clearly more convincing than the previous version (49%, black bottle).
