Start of Montebello’s permanent aged range, this rum aims to be quite good-natured and accessible for the agricultural terroir. The nose has a fairly broad aromatic palette covering citrus, dried fruits, agricultural notes (vegetal and herbal), spices and wood. The sweetness is present with a rather light but dry nose. On the palate, the typical profile of French-style rums stands out: dried fruits, a vegetal, earthy and herbal side, sugarcane, more pronounced spices and well-integrated wood form the overall aromatic profile. The thick texture in the mouth adds body and a bit of indulgence. The alcohol is well integrated. The finish is of honorable length and remains on the same dry and agricultural register. Some fruity notes on citrus and more vanilla reappear and give a bit of shape back to the profile. A rum which, at its 3 years of aging, makes a good overall impression without being revolutionary.

Young old accessible. Ideal for getting started with agricole. More pastry-like and sweet than typical agricole. The sweetness comes from the ex-bourbon cask. The palate is more agricole than the nose. Easy to drink.
