CoR Hampden No Colours for Absolutely Nuts (Ed. 1) 1983
Here's the surprise: after 41 years in the cask this Hampden still smells fresh and fruity, with barely any alcohol showing at 55%. Overripe tropical fruit, banana, pineapple, marzipan and that classic ester-and-nail-polish funk. The palate shows more wood and a musty, slightly peaty edge — a few tasters felt it sits just past its peak, but the finish stays long and fruity.

How does CoR Hampden No Colours for Absolutely Nuts (Ed. 1) 1983 taste?
Aggregated from 19 community reviews.
Ancient continental Hampden, fruity ester bomb Loved by Hampden fans for its ester-heavy fruit and astonishing freshness for the age. The catch: some find the musty old-wood note on the palate a touch much.

Incredibly cool 83 Hampden! Continental aging at its best. Tropical fruits, esters, bacon, roasted nuts and lots and lots of delicious overripe tropical fruits. Incredibly creamy and delicious. I really like it!

Lots of intensity and funk despite the long time in the cask. As for other 1983 Hampden bottlings, this combination of high ester levels and long continental aging is superb and very much to my liking. For this particular one, I think it is a bit over its peak. The finish shows quite a bit of musty wood notes, which overpower the lingering fruit notes.

Messebewertung GRF 2025 Toller Hampden. Ester Feuerwerk.
