Briny olive and salt sit right next to overripe fruit here — that's the odd, unmistakable Le Galion signature. Underneath: fresh sugarcane, citrus, banana, pear and a grassy green edge, wrapped in dry sweet-wine cask. At 61.4% and just 9 months old, it's raw and hot but reads more complex than the age suggests. Genuinely a hate-it-or-love-it agricole.

8,2:On the nose, sugarcane, grassy, hay-ish, vegetal with olive, esters, pungent, rotten strawberry, buttery, nutty, sweet with honeycomb, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, overripe green, citrus fruits arise, like fruit schnapps, some mushrooms, woody, meaty notes, some medicinal. 8,1:On the palate, the attack is medicinal with esters, pungent, intense with overripe, rotten citrus, green and red fruit like fruit schnapps, sweet sugar cane honeycomb, green, grassy, fresh, vegetal with briny olive, bitter, as the wood is spicy and smoky. 8,1:The finish is medium long, dry, medicinal, chemical, metallic, cane is grassy, green fruits overripe, wood smoky, spicy. Very young but surprisingly exciting rum. On the nose fresh sugarcane, citrus, some herbs and a noticeable alcoholic sharpness. On the palate with grassy notes, a hint of spice and subtle sweetness. Despite the extremely short aging time, it feels more complex than expected.

#7158 14.08.2026 Relaxing with a few rums after a slow week at work and a lot of walking. Listening to some nice trance by Avalon, GMS, Funk Tribu and Vini Vici. Very good rum when looking at the price tag in my mind. Intense profile with industrial, olive, salt, fruits, spice and light roasted wood.

Schon das stehende Glas verströmt schöne Aromen von frischem Zuckerrohr und Zitrusfrüchten. Toller Rum den da Nicolas abgefüllt hat, auf dem GRF 25 erworben, umso trauriger war es das es dieses Jahr nicht neues gab, war wohl zu wild für die Wagemut-Jünger.😉 Ein sehr fordernder junger Agricole, das Banyul Fass war genau die richtige Wahl um ihn wenigstens ein wenig zu zähmen. Sehr außergewöhnlicher Rum und in der Art wohl einzigartig, gefällt mir sehr gut.

Very brave of Nico to bottle such a beast and such a special rum! Motto: hate it or love it. I really like the Galion profile, but it's very special with the typical fruity ester note but at the same time olives and salt.

The first impression was somewhat off-putting, as it reminded me of moldy and blue cheese (to put it in a somewhat positive light). However, the biting smell gave way to a fruity hint of cherries, mulled wine, and winter spices, dried apricot, and plum. On the palate, it has a dry start, but the alcohol is well integrated. Over meaty notes of olive, artichoke, and green tea, a woody spiciness appears, with clove, allspice, and dried orange strongly evoking Christmas. Before it leads into a fruity finish of dried (concentrated) rose-like fruits (baked apple, plum, apricot) with floral hints of chamomile and tea. A lot is happening here, and it’s fascinating. Its frightening first impression is followed by surprising depth and complexity that you wouldn’t necessarily expect from a distillate that feels rather young. Definitely not an easy sipper, but an extremely exciting bottling.

Beautiful ester grenade from Le Galion. Very fruity, with aromas of pear and banana. Versatile use. Both neat (but only for advanced), as well as in a daiquiri or to elevate other rums to a whole new level.

On the nose lots of sugarcane, citrus fruits, slightly floral. On the palate fruity, slight olive, green and grassy notes. Quite a bit of alcoholic bite. Wasn't my thing, I currently prefer "lighter" Agricole.
