Surprisingly light for a 16-year Guyanese — that's the recurring note here. The pale color hints at it, and the glass follows through: light wood, caramel, a little chocolate and dried prune, gentle spice. The alcohol sits well integrated, but the finish fades fast and depth is thin. Pleasant and easy, just not the big Demerara punch the age suggests.

German Rum Festival 2025. A nose of yellow fruits and dried fruits with surprisingly little wood. A beautiful pastry-like sweetness that could remind you of a Foursquare. The entry on the palate is soft and aromatic but the lack of power is felt quite quickly. The rum is rather balanced, sweet, and flavorful. The finish is rather short even if aromas of dried fruits remain for a long time.

#5652 09.09.2025 Enjoying a few samples while watching TV. This is also a very light rum in my mind. Light wood with some light licorice and chocolate as well as some light prunes and dried fruit. Would have loved it with a higher ABV. German Rum Fest 2025 sample.

In no way unpleasant, but overall very light in its expression and not very lasting. Could be a column still distillate, as in my opinion there is hardly anything typical of PM markers to be found.

8,2:On the nose, roasted wood, smoky, with confectionery, leather, roasted nuts, caramel, spicy with vanilla, baking spices, anise, citrus fruits, flowery molasses, metallic patina, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, the molasses turns more to vegetal side with pencil shavings, hay and tea, dried apricots and raisins arise, some cardboard. 7,9:On the palate, the attack is light, dry, oily, buttery with roasted wood notes like caramel, roasted nuts, chocolate, pastry, slightly sweet, then biscuits, later slightly resinous, fruity with dried, green fruits, coconut and plums, as the molasses is herbaceous, grassy, sweet with maple. 7,8:The finish is medium long, dry and tannic, as caramelized roasted wood notes, spicy, pair dried, citrus and green fruits, grassy molasses. Retasting for the fair evaluation: Despite the age rather light, especially on the palate. The typical aromas of wood, caramel, spices and dried fruits are still present from nose to palate; however, no particularly outstanding aromas can be found. Alcohol well integrated.

Yeah. Nice, but unfortunately not what you’d expect from a 16-year-old Uitvlugt. The color is very light, and the nose is just as weak. Slight sweetness, a bit of fruit. On the tongue, wood appears, a slightly metallic, sweetish note like young wood. The finish is very short; after 2 minutes it’s gone. Not bad, but nothing more.
