Strong 94 New Yarmouth. Mature, but — unlike many late releases of the vintage — not overly woody and with a great balance of caramel, coconut, vanilla, wood, dried fruit, a hint of mint/menthol, and spices. Also a great sweetness. NY 94 is never bad, but this one is delicious even by comparison.

#5643 30.08.2025 Tasted at the Germen Rum Fest 2025. Was lucky this bottle flew by and a sample went into my glass 😊 A nicely balanced NY with fruit and light ester notes. Wood and ABV are near perfectly integrated. There is a light floral and caramel touch to the profile.

German Rum Festival 2025. A pleasantly sweet woody nose, with stewed fruit. You can tell this rum has spent a lot of time in casks. Freshness too, with a slight menthol note. Very full-bodied, immediately reminiscent of one of the best New Yarmouth 94s, to be verified later. The aromas continue to build on the palate and fill the whole. The finish is very long, with lovely sweet acidity and a touch of bourbon. The pronounced wood only comes in at the end. A truly remarkable rum, thank you Skyfly.

Messebewertung: neuer Release von Distilia. Mit einer der besten 1994er NY die ich bisher in Glas hatte. Bringt alle typischen Aromen mit. Das Bourbon-Finish ist genial geworden und wirkt in keiner Weise störend.

An incredibly elegant and heavy, delicious old New Yarmouth. Intense bourbon and glue notes, cinnamon, dark roasted coconut chips, dark chocolate with sea salt, some mint and spicy ginger, vanilla and tonka bean, cookie dough and ripe tropical fruits. The 30y in the cask don't seem too much, but are really well integrated. Incredibly mild, delicious and well-balanced. Great stuff! Thanks to SkyFly for the opportunity!

Messebewertung 14. GRF 2025: Auf jeden Fall ein Lippenlecker, aber vielleicht einen Ticken zu süß für meinen Geschmack. Bedarf unbedingt einer weiteren ausführlichen Verkostung, am besten in einem schönen Flight mit ein paar anderen NY94-Schwergewichten. In der Gewichtsklasse ist er aber schon mal richtig, diese Einschätzung traue ich mir nach der generösen Kurzverkostung auf dem Hof der Station Berlin zu - herzlichen Dank, Skyfly!

Beautiful New Yarmouth with plenty of power and complexity. I really like it. Perfectly integrated alcohol, beautiful aromas of wood, vanilla and toffee and rounded off with fine fruity notes!

Der letzte fürbheute (zum bewerten) :-). Aber ein richtig starker New Yarmouth. Eine leichte anständige Süße, Karamell und Vanille vor allem + etwas Holz und Kokosnuss. Am Gaumen auch noch ne Runde Klebstoff.

1994 New Yarmouth...I have almost exclusively positive memories of it... And the nose doesn't disappoint at first. The classic aroma profile with tropical fruits, vanilla, caramel, light ester and a little cinnamon is immediately convincing. On the palate, there is initially some sweet brown caramel, which then quickly gives way to wood, barrel, tannins, spices and a slight roastiness. Fruit is almost no longer perceptible. The same in the finish. For me, this bottling is past its zenith... the cask is too much in the foreground here

Zu allererst vielen Dank an Skyfly, der die Flasche am 14.GRF aus dem Hut gezaubert hat. Finde diese Abfüllung süßer als ich die 94er New Yarmouth in Erinnerung habe. Alkohol gut eingebunden. Erster Eindruck ist top. Werde nochmal mit ein paar anderen einen direkten Vergleich starten. Bewertung kann sich also noch ändern.

the oldest rum for me so far. Barrel aromas particularly emphasized. Blindly I would have guessed Barbados, the esters only show up with a little glue. Alcohol barely perceptible after a while. 👃Ce premier nez délivre toutes sortes de déclinaisons de gourmandises de caramel, de sucre brun, de nougatine, de gousse de vanille cuite, de noix de coco grillée et de pain grillé. Le boisé est toasté à la limite bousiné. Ces arômes me font fortement penser à un Foursquare mais en plus rond, moins vif. Cette rondeur sucrée évolue vers un fruité confit, entre les agrumes (orange et citron jaune) et l'ananas caramélisé, supporté par des épices de cuisine. L'aération lui permet de s'ouvrir sur des notes de jasmin, j'y trouve un léger voile de vernis, de menthe séchée et de feuille de thé vert. Ces arômes-ci distinguent ce New Yarmouth de Foursquare. Des traces de fruits secs (noisettes), de chocolat au lait et de cuir ferment la marche olfactive. Je suis impressionné par l'intégration de l'ABV. Jamais j'aurais trouvé les 65%, j'aurais parié sur 50-55% grand max. Une des forces de cette sélection. 😋 Davantage de vivacité et de chaleur en bouche bien que je reste toujours surpris par l'intégration de l'alcool. Sensation plus sèche qu'au nez, on retrouve sans surprise le combo de caramel, fruits secs, fruits confits (ananas), vanille grasse, des oléagineux grillés, la coco grillée, les douelles bousinées du fût bien présentes. En fin de bouche, un peu de colle, de menthe séchée et de cuir. Le fût de Bourbon marque avec force ce très vieux Rum de mélasse de la plus belle des façons. ⛳ Longue, chaude, avec une forte impression du boisé Bourbon. Sensation huileuse, caramel, vanille, cannelle, noix, chocolat noir pimenté, fraîcheur inattendue de menthe déshydratée. 🏆 Un excellent nez, complexe et équilibré. Une bouche dans la suite logique du nez, elle lui manque un petit quelque chose pour faire passer cette sélection un cran au-dessus. Le jeu de la dégustation m'aura régulièrement fait penser à Fousquare. Le chêne américain s'exprime pleinement sans jamais altérer le plaisir de la dégustation. Mention spéciale pour l'intégration bluffante de l'ABV (après 1h dans le verre environ). 90 pts 🙏 Remerciements à Distilia pour l'envoi d'un colis contenant 4 échantillons. Aucune collaboration commerciale n'a été demandé. Je reste indépendant dans mes notes de dégustation.

25-10-2025 - Rate 9.3 14-02-2026 - Rate 9.2 Time for a rating of this great New Yarmouth. Must say the the 30 years from Flensburg Rum Company is still my favorit New Yarmouth. Nose of ester, glue, wood and dried fruits. Palate following close by. Long finish dominated by wood, ester and dried fruits.

Distilia New Yarmouth Ex Bourbon Ce rhum de Jamaïque a été distillé en 1994, et a vieilli 13 ans en climat tropical, puis 17ans en climat continental dans une finition de fût de bourbon. La dégustation la plus perturbante du lot tant ce rhum à 65,9% ne donne aucune sensation d'alcool fort, mais est surtout similaire à un Foursquare. Le nez, totalement sur les marqueurs de la Barbade, nous amènent sur de la vanille gourmande, du caramel épicé, et de la coco grillée. Un fond de fruits exotiques et ses notes pâtissières rappellent le cake au fruits. On retrouve de la cannelle, et du chêne. J'adore ! En bouche, c'est surprenant de douceur. Il est impensable que ce rhum dépasse les 55°, et pourtant... Là encore, totalement Foursquare, avec ce coco ultra présent après une attaque piquante d'épices complexes. Le rhum est fruité et épicé, mais surtout gourmand façon pâte à gâteau vanillée dont on lèche le fond de bol. Un peu d'eucalyptus apparaît en fin de bouche avec un boisé raffiné. C'est rond, sans doute avec la finition de bourbon. La finale est longue sans excès, et prolonge le plaisir de ce coco et de ces épices dans la gourmandise pâtissière.

Very barrel-heavy aromas, which is no wonder given its age. Nevertheless, not too barrel-heavy, but excellently balanced. In direct comparison to RX 22650, this is clearly better, as it offers even more.
