Most tasters land around 8.5 and call this a well-married blend, though a few say it's more cask-driven and less fruity than the usual Savanna. Expect dried fruit, dark chocolate, young oak, spice and a cognac-like roundness from the cask. Several note the 58% isn't perfectly integrated and it can turn hot and drying toward the finish. Rich and woody rather than the classic ester bomb.

8,3:On the nose, soap, flowery molasses, young roasted wood with chocolate, caramel, roasted nuts, some leather, spicy, cognac touch, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, metallic patina arises, various fruits like pineapple, strawberry, yellow fruits and orange peel, the molasses is herbaceous, earthy. 8,1:On the palate, the attack is spicy, oaky, pungent with esters, almost rotten fruits like pineapple, bitter orange, cognac's dried fruits, briny vegetal molasses, slightly flowery, spicy with chilli, roasted wood notes with dark chocolate, pastry, cognac 's leather, spicy with vanilla and pepper. 8,2:The finish is rather long, dry and tannic, furry with cognac's dried fruits and currants, grapes, leather, also tropical, citrus fruits, cherries, then roasted, oaky, spicy wood and notes like chocolate, vanilla, slightly smoky, vegetal molasses. Savanna Masterclass 26.09.2025 Edit: Aftertaste. Already better than the Le Must, simply because of more aromatic complexity. Also the typical berry/bubblegum notes are subtly present. But in the end, also on the palate not quite round and the alcohol is not so well integrated.

Really nice, well-made blend that suits the high average age very well. Ripe peach, dark berries, fresh ginger, and strong Earl Grey, plus dark chocolate and slightly floral citrus notes. Very good balance and pleasant to drink. By far my favorite of the Absolu releases so far. Grand Arome and Traditionnelle are very harmoniously combined!

Savanna RumX Tasting 26.09.25: The L‘ Absolou 25 shows a nice spicy side. It's not as fruity as you expect from Savanna. Rather hidden dried fruits are noticeable, paired with some dark chocolate... that fits.

Heute mal ein kleines wilde savanna Tasting. L'Absolute 2025, sehr solider und leckerer Savanna mit ordentlichem Holzeinschlag. Lecker. Unshared Cask CZ, schon sehr viel weicher am Gaumen, hellere Fruchtnoten mit dem typischen Erdbeerjoghurt. Zum Abgang hin wird es wild adstringent und die Früchte karamelisiert. Etwas scharf und unrund zum Ende hin. Dennoch sehr interessant. Sternenhimmel, hui, der spaltet völlig zurecht die Gemüter. Sehr schwefelig. Ich kann mich noch nicht ganz entscheiden, ob ich ihn mag oder nicht. Grotte, fruchtig, sehr viel vergorene Früchte. Kurzer Abgang, Alkohol nicht ideal eingebunden. Fällt etwas im Vergleich ab.

👃🏼 = Fresh aromas of ripe yellow and red fruits, vanilla, roasting, woody varnish, a bit of tannins and herbal notes. 👄 = After the tonic attack, I get caramel, nuts, a bit of chocolate and more red fruits. The finish is long, pastry-like and a bit honeyed. Well done Savanna for this harmonious blend of the 3 types of rums produced by the distillery 👍

Savanna Masterclass. This Savanna really knows how to convince. On the nose really spicy and woody, some chocolate and vanilla are recognizable. On the palate, wood and spiciness remain. Really a good rum.

Great savanna blend . Wonderfully fruity nose with strawberries, pineapple and cherry. There is also a slight ester note and a light pine note or coniferous wood in general. On the palate Chewing gum, strawberries pineapple and oak which then turns slightly into coniferous wood and some eucalyptus in the mouth. Very nice, I like it better than expected.

Savanna tasting on 26.09.2025 – Eight samples were tasted and expertly explained. The Savanna hype somehow passed me by again, but it was a really great event. Many thanks to RumX and the Savanna team – more of this please! The Savannas are true masters and craftsmen. Complex, 60% vol., that flatter the palate. The work with different styles like Creole, Traditional and HERR leads to a variety that only a few distilleries offer. All top-notch! Number 6 really pleased me. Spice, complexity, Savanna is at its best. Great how an interesting product emerges from Agricole and HERR.

Savanna x RumX Masterclass 2025. I had a very unique opportunity to taste several Savannas during this special masterclass. I had a wonderful evening. More cask-like, woody, and spicy, less fruity than usual. Heavier. As others have mentioned, there's a strong Earl Grey in here, with chocolate notes. Simply a top-notch rum.

Rumx X Savanna. Blend de 4 casks : 1 agricole de 11 ans (18%), 1 Grand arome de 10 ans (20%), 13 yo trad (40%), 15 yo trad (20%), plus ou moins. Au nez le côté herbacé domine les fruits, mais en bouche ils reviennent fort avec un gros côté empyreumathique. Une finale longue, avec quelques épices, et un bel équilibre. Plutot simple à boire. Un effort sur le prix de Savanna, en dessous de 200€ la bouteille ! merci à l'équipe.

Tolle Nase, die eine vielfältige Bandbreite an Aromen mitbringt. Von jedem Aspekt ist eine gute Ladung vorhanden. Sehr lecker ist die Erdbeer-Schoko-Karamell-Kombi. Im Mund schwächelt der Rum etwas, da zu scharf und kräftig würzig, aber dennoch mir starkem Frucht-Punch. Abgang dagegen wieder sehr passabel, mit leckeren Früchten und vanillig, schokoladig.

No Ester Savanna, that becomes clear quickly. Rather a very cask-heavy representative, which with lots of dark fruits, strong oak and dry aromas from the cask travels through the nose as well as the palate. It needs the 58% for the voluminous body, but they are not perfectly integrated. All in all a noble representative, reminiscent of old leather sofas, cedarwood and cigars - powerful and almost too strong but will perfectly accompany such an evening.

Third edition of the Absolu, this Savanna is a tasty and comforting blend. The nose is opulent, heavily imbued with cherry, strawberry, and pineapple. The wood, chili, chocolate, vanilla, and caramel coat the nostrils with their warmth. The touch of cognac from the cask has a nice effect and adds roundness. A lovely gourmand nose as Savanna knows how to do. The palate keeps the gourmand spirit but darkens for more elegance. Dark chocolate, red pepper, leather, esters, and dried fruits come together and coat the palate with a drier and nobler aura. Pineapple and a subtle vegetal freshness complete this beautiful aromatic picture. The integration of the alcohol is very good. The finish is long and elegant. The fruits are heavy and voluptuous, carried by blackcurrant, cherry, grape, and pineapple. The dryness of the palate continues through notes of chocolate, leather, sweet spices, wood, and smoke. A generous and rich cuvée, perhaps a bit more closed than the previous edition but offering more roundness and comfort.

Schöner Blend aus Grand Arome und Agricole. Fruchtig, würzig und etwas Holz . Sehr schön ausbalanciert und mit gut integrierten Alkohol. Die Abfüllung macht nicht viel falsch, aber es fehlt dann etwas an Tiefe am Ende.

The nose shows fresh sugarcane notes with a slightly grassy touch, plus fermented fruit and a subtle ester spiciness. On the palate, agricole freshness and Grand Arôme intensity combine into a harmonious profile that unites fruit, herbs, and some citrus. The finish is medium-length, slightly spicy and pleasantly dry. Overall a nice mix of the two styles, solid but without a standout highlight.

Of the three Absolu, surely the one whose profile is most different between nose and palate. Very soft and fruity nose which contrasts with its predecessors. Then on the palate we find the woody notes of the previous editions. It remains soft and fruity, lighter. Nice balance. Very cool.

For this 2025 edition, Savanna innovates: for the first time, the distillery brings together its three universes — 👉 traditional molasses rum, 👉 agricole rum from pure cane juice, 👉 and grand arôme rum, the house signature with explosive esters. Each has aged between 10 and 15 years under tropical climate: 20% agricole (11 years), 20% grand arôme (10 years), 40% traditional (13 years), and 20% of 15 years. Bottled at 58%, like the 2024 version. The result? The three universes blend perfectly, giving a balanced, harmonious, and very pleasant rum to drink. Personally, I find it better than the 2024 vintage: more woody and spicy notes, a nice touch of olive, and a remarkable length.

First tasted at WLP 2025, now also at home. Rich aroma - chocolate, vanilla, fruit, wood. Very harmonious taste with pronounced dried fruit, a bit of esters and cognac added. I recommend trying it, Savanna really nailed this one.
