Velier Bielle Rhum Rhum Libération Integrale 2017 2010
Dark chocolate, leather and dried fruit lead here, with candied citrus and a green, earthy sugarcane edge underneath. This 2017 Bielle leans heavily on cask maturity — several tasters call it the woodiest, least fruity of the Integrale run, with a dry, tannic finish and licorice-menthol lift. The 58.4% is remarkably well tucked in; more than one person guessed it blind as Jamaica or old Guyana.
The community says- Great alcohol integration
- Chocolate and leather
- Keep in mind: Dry, tannic finish

Dry, wood-forward agricole with chocolate depth Loved as an elegant, wood-forward agricole with chocolate and leather depth. A few fans of the series miss the "fruchtige Wahnsinn" of other Integrales and find this one drier and more oak-led.

Very interesting agricole which is quite different from what we usually see. Nose is rather dry with wood, spices but also some fruits. Palate is more round with salted caramel, vanilla and overriped fruits. A very good rum !

RumX-Adventskalender 25.12.2023 Blind tasting: Jamaica on the nose, really old Guyana on the palate. Another blend? I'm at a bit of a loss. But very happy with this rum, it's a lip-smacker! 😋 😋 😋 The fact that it's a Bielle in the end doesn't speak against my sense of taste, but in favor of these exquisite agricoles.

RumX Advent 25.12.23 Perfume, warm wood, sweet dried fruits, vanilla, aromatic tobacco, toasty scent, leather, natural vegetality, crisp nutty. Not sure if I would have recognized Bielle blindly, but the characteristics are relatively clear. It is a good representative of the distillery. Complex, good drinking strength, but it won't be my favorite profile. Retasting: Good rum, I liked it a little better

RumX Calendar Day 26 Bonus Sample What a more than worthy conclusion. Thanks again to the organizing team. All I can say about the rum itself is that it was extremely tasty and dangerously drinkable. Edit: after tasting the RX314 yesterday, I have to say that unfortunately it doesn't quite come close to the RX314
Review by Joachim Guger
At the beginning, nail polish and solvent. Then delicate yet intense woodiness. Dried fruit and complex citrus. Alcohol integration exemplary. Continues similarly in the mind. Long, great finish. The Liberation DNA is clearly recognizable, but it lacks the fruity madness of the other Integrales. This one scores with wood maturity in perfection. However, the bar is very high, for me by far the weakest of the series.🥲🥲

Wow, a great Bielle. The nose is full of aromas such as wood, chocolate and leather. On the palate there is also a very light, really great sweetness. Dark chocolate, vanilla and caramel can be recognized here. Great rum.

I am a fan of connecting rods and again it did not disappoint!!! Thanks to Kevin for sharing this great bottle!

Tasting of the 2015 and 2017. I will not be able to determine a winner. We have the two very good farm rums but I'm not thrilled with the wine barrel finish. I much prefer the rasta morris on this one.
Review by Martin Augustin
Very fruity on the nose. Complemented by some leather, chocolate and slightly grassy. Smells very fresh. The taste is also very fresh and light. A slight sweetness comes to the fore with notes of vanilla, chocolate and salted caramel. Very good rum agricole.

This rum really had to grow on me. After several sips, I fell more and more in love with it. This is actually the best explanation for me personally: "Nail polish and solvent at the beginning. Then delicate but intense woodiness. Dried fruit and complex citrus." The alcohol integration is perfect. It leaves a wonderful warm glow on the palate and lips. Perfect alcohol integration. The finish lingers beautifully. A little menthol and dry. On the nose, this rum doesn't convince me; there's something about it that doesn't appeal to me.

Integral tasting 2024: Insane compared to the 2017 with 45%. Already more dominant on the nose, then a quantum leap on the tongue. The alcohol is really perfectly integrated. The 8.8 remains.
Review by Thunderbird
This is the right start after Dry January! What a delicious Bielle... heavy, spicy and woody it comes... minimal dried fruits and some sugarcane are also recognizable... it fills every corner of the mouth with its aromas... the finish is long and lets you feel its strength again and again... wonderful

RumX Calendar 2023: Wow. You have to come up with Agricole first. The sugar cane is hidden behind a lot of cocoa, so I'm wavering between milk and dark chocolate. Some citrus fruit on the palate, otherwise spicy-floral elements set the tone here. Nicely roasted with a hint of leather, slight bitterness without being distracting. Could really be located in Guyana. Alcohol is also well integrated. Great.
Review by Tim

8,8:On the nose, leather, roasted wood notes like chocolate, almonds, solvents, perhaps rubber, herbaceous and flowery sugarcane, dried fruits, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, candied citrus fruits are out, other roasted notes like marzipan, cream toffee, cocoa, caramelized, spicy allspice and new sugarcane tones-earthy with tobacco, fresh with tea, minty...great complexity. 8,7:On the palate, the attack is tasty with herbaceous sugarcane, mineral, vegetal, later flowery ,sweet with honey and darker with black tea, meaty roasted wood notes like leather, dark chocolate, later cocoa, roasted nuts, caramelized, spicy with vanilla and salty, oaky, slightly bitter, fruity with citrus and dried fruits...We might notice some menthol, when the rum is oxidized. 8,7:The finish is long, dry and tannic, waxy, slightly medicinal with menthol, the barrel impact is strong, with dark roasted wood notes, pairing vegetal, flowery sugarcane, earthy with tobacco, fresh with tea, slightly dark with licorice and citrus, yellow and dried fruits.

Flo's birthday tasting Rhum Liberation 2024-05-17: Among today's Integrale releases, I'd put dull 2017 third. Better than 2020s, but doesn't quite come close to 2017s and 2012s.
Review by mto75
Tasted together with the Integrale 2020. The 2020 is a bit fresher on the nose (herbs) and more pronounced on the citrus, the 2017 is a bit more pronounced on the dried fruit and caramel. On the palate, the 2017 is a bit rounder. The 2020 comes through more on the tannins and oak barrel. Overall, the 2017 is minimally ahead.
Review by TheJona'Spirits
Soon the end of the complete Rhum Rhum Libération lineup. 👃 Dried citrus, dried fruits, dried and roasted apricot. The cask develops woody aromas, dark chocolate, leather, dried oilseeds, spices. Candied sugarcane, tea leaf infusion. 😋 Endemic sugarcane, salty vanilla, bitter dark chocolate, also very herbal, even earthy on the stem. Fruity, on dried citrus and apricots. More atypical than the previous FP RRLs, this 2017 really reminds me of the single cask agricole rums from Engenhos do Norte in Madeira, especially the 15-year-old 2004 bottled in 2019. ⛳ Medium length, vegetal, dry, bitter. Citrus, lots of sugarcane woodiness, dark chocolate, leather, licorice freshness, green tea.
Review by Vincent D
Nose both very agricole but surprising for me. A very present wood and leather, a vegetal side and a sensation of bitter almond. Surprising profile that makes you want more. The first sip is intense. The 58° are definitely there. Very quickly, the wood gives way to leather. It's braised, almost salty. Despite everything, it remains very vegetal. The wood dominates the finish which is of a very pleasant length. Not at all the rum profile I usually consume but a very nice discovery. Edit: same impression as at the first tasting. It's a very pleasant profile.
Review by Mirco
On the nose fresh sugarcane, herbs, citrus zest and a warm woody note. On the palate intense and straightforward with green cane, spice, a slightly earthy depth and some vanilla. The 58% give good pressure but remain harmoniously integrated. Overall a expressive, well-aged Libération Integrale with structure and lots of character, without unnecessary playfulness.
Review by Sebastian Kornett
An incredible Agricole that you do not recognize as such. Only late in the finish come subtle note of Agricole. Has a very complex nose of leather, tobacco to tropical fruits like bananas papaya over spices and woods. Taste-wise it has a lot to offer. You should give it a lot of attention, then you can taste out so much. Its 58.4% alcohol by volume is pretty darn well integrated. A world class glory.
Review by Piotr Ignasiak
RX calendar 24 bonus Quite relaxed and enjoyable. You wouldn't guess the voltage as it's so well integrated. Very fruity, some sulphur notes at first, cocoa last. Maybe not the most intense or complex but great.
Review by Fuwi
Fantastic bottling, great Bielle! For me, this is the masterclass of Agricole! Brings everything you hope and expect. Herbal notes meet Agricole aromas, slightly metallic and bitter, well-integrated alcohol and a great overall package. However, it remains behind the RX314 – but that one also comes at cask strength and thus brings more punch.
Review by Righrum
Rhum Rhum is always a great choice. This 2017 is maybe less intense than 2010/2012 but still is a great dram with the liberation DNA, with that chocolate truffle / praline note on the nose that is amazing to me
Review by Nils123
Exactly the same high quality as RX 314. Many parallels in taste as well. Visually, it would be really hard for me to tell them apart. Both are rather cask-driven and only really open up with water. Also here, a very long, delicious Agricole finish.
Review by Alessandro
The full version obviously pushes more than the reduced one. Unfortunately, I tasted it at the end of a dinner and not having enough time for oxygenation in the glass, I had to dilute it with water

RumX Advent calendar No. 25: Great Agricole to close the Advent calendar. Super selection and recommendable.
Review by Lot-NAS
Calendar #25 (Bonus / blind) Spicy, vanilla, wood, crème brûlée, roasted notes (roasted almonds). All that also on the palate. "Süffig" fits well, the alcohol is barely noticeable. The finish is rather short but overall very harmonious. A dangerous daily sipper. If the price is right, this would definitely be a candidate for the next MoM order  Just for completeness: Foursquare, about 48%, 14 years +-.
Review by Master P
Only late on the finish do subtle notes of Agricole appear. Has a very complex nose from leather, tobacco to tropical fruits like bananas, papaya over spices and woods. On the palate it has a lot to offer. You should pay a lot of attention to it, then you can taste quite a bit. Its 58.4% vol. alcohol is well integrated.
Review by Djehey
Very mature for so few years. Probably the small barrels. So you have the corresponding aromas. Quite little fruity. A bit gourmand. Drying finish because of the wood. Alcohol well integrated. You have to admit that it is a nice result in quite a short time.
Review by Buddudharma
RumX Advent calendar 25.12.23: On the nose a high intensity greets you, which for me most likely goes towards Jamaica, especially Long Pond. On the palate it is more difficult, the rum is less intense (although still intense enough). The profile is nicely round and balanced, but completely lacks very characteristic markers. At the very end a note appears that almost reminds of old Agricoles, but overall I would still assume a British-style rum. For lack of better ideas I would guess Long Pond, low-ester, good 60%, at least 15 years, but today I am somewhat unsure.

Big hit again. How can you not love such a juice... very beautiful complexity, very nice length on the palate, alcohol perfectly integrated. Beautiful notes of fruit, vanilla, woodiness, a bit of spice and leather herb... it's just excellent ❤️❤️❤️
Review by John Coffey
Too strong in the mouth. And I don't like the spiciness... Whereas the nose was much more discreet
Review by Benoit Mahe
A good rum that lacks a little fruitiness on the palate. A fine delicacy. Looking forward to the 2020!
Review by FischeJ
Holzig, leder, Vanille, exzellente leichte Süße, intensiv und voll im Mund. Leichte getrocknete Früchte. Etwas Schwefel (im positiven Sinn in diesem Fall)
Review by cetto
You can feel the minerality, very clean and alcohol well integrated
Review by Michal S
Rum for advanced drinkers. The nose and taste differ quite a bit, the nose distracts me a bit with sulfur (?). The taste is very complex with leather, chocolate, and sugarcane. I recommend tasting it.
Review by Niko
The excellence of Marie Galante. Complexity and elegance keep the promises up to its reputation. Beautiful finish more vegetal even herbal. A delight! 😋😋
