What makes this 2022 edition stand out is the Caroni cask aging — tasters pick up tar, rubber and a smoky, medicinal edge sitting on top of fresh cane, honey and spice. #5770 28.09.2025 Day two of the Whisky Live 2025, which this year looks better organized/arranged inside. This is also a very good release which is slightly spicier and on the peppery side. Wood and ABV is on the back and spices, fruits, light chocolate and some dried fruits in the front.

The 2022 edition of Providence shows a nice hybrid aged in several casks (bourbon, Providence, and Caroni). The latter actually has a slight medicinal and smoky influence on the nose, which blends perfectly with the fresh and herbal aspects, as well as the honeyed notes of the cane, along with sequences of dried and exotic fruits (lime) and spicy wood. It's a soft, varied, and coherent nose. The attack on the palate brings out similar notes, starting with sugarcane and herbal notes, then turning towards more smoky, medicinal, and spicy notes (cinnamon, chili, vanilla). Dried fruits and citrus continue their path through the more roasted, sweet, and vegetal aspects of the profile. The whole is dry but rather well balanced. The alcohol is very well integrated. The finish is surprisingly long and marked by Caroni (tar, rubber) and medicinal and herbal notes. The profile is drier but still imbued in the background by wood, cinnamon, chili, fresh cane, citrus, and dried fruits. A good bottling, original and surely boosted by the Caroni cask aging, but one must admit it adds to its charm.

Whisky Live Paris 2025 - to be tasted again to confirm the score and notes. The fourth release is back in the good tracks the first aged release drawn, but still this 2022 is yet too light to impress me.

Tasted at Whisky Live Paris 2026. At first, I found the nose very strongly marked by the Caroni cask, which brings a smoky and dirty side. Not necessarily convinced initially because I like the Providence profile. On the palate, it's more convincing, more balanced and less marked. You find notes of cane and fruit before the wood and spicier, smoky notes take over. Nice.

Tasted at WLP 2026. Although the bottle should have been release in 2025 (it was present at WLP2025 too). Due to unforseen circumstances, probably due to unrest in Haïti amongst others (representatives were not eager to shed details). The new edition of the series is definitely improving over the years. And i am a sucker for Providence. I'm looking forward to what this distillery will come up with in the future.
