A small superficial comparison tasting between the three newest Rhum Rhum RX25045, RX25046, and RX26410. Roberto would put it like this: RX26410>RX25045>>RX25046. Yes, the RX25045 is for my taste actually just barely behind the superb RX26410. And the longer it stays in the glass, the closer it gets to it; it feels just as powerful but fruitier. The RX25046 is also very tasty but falls a bit short for me due to its lower ABV and the associated lower aroma density. All three are recommendable bottlings.

Small X-tasting: Very floral/ funky rum with pronounced cane aromas. Alongside that, light young wood and various fruits, but they stay in the background. You can basically taste the dilution through quite flat flavours.

#5879 21.10.2025 Enjoying some samples after a positive visit to the eye specialist for my diabetes checkup. Lighter profile than the big brother with 56% ABV. Nose Light, light wood, floral, light vegetal, apple, nutts, light chocolate. Palate Fresh, oily, warm, light wood, light chocolate, nutts, olive, faint salt, faint smoke, floral, light grass, light apple, faint cherry. Finish Medium long, oily, light wood, faint smoke, light caramel, olive, light salt, faint berries. Empty glass Medicinal, light floral, olive, light nutts, fruits.

The nose is nicely floral and really lightly nutty. There's also a bit of sulfur coming through. On the palate, it's a bit restrained but still radiates a certain warmth. Not too sharp. Relatively smooth. All in all, it tastes pretty good. The finish then gains a bit of dominance.

First of the two new Liberations, the lighter one in the glass... I find the nose very pleasant and quite complex, multilayered... a good start... but on the palate, it's a disappointment... here it's the exact opposite: relatively simple, flat, and one-dimensional... none of the previous fruity aromas come through anymore... a bit of spice, wood, and typical vegetal Agricole notes... that's it... the Agricole character continues intensely in the finish.

Nose nutty, grassy, floral and with notes of dried fruits. On the palate, the fruity notes fade more into the background, the floral and biting notes become more dominant. Subtle influence of wood. Clearly lighter than the Integrale, but not too thin yet.

Floral, honey-sweet, slightly grassy, pear. Quite a subtle nose. On the palate, a sweet start, profile similar to the nose. Grassy, pear/honeydew melon, subtle cask influence. Compared to the Integrale, more 'drinkable' and less woody, full and intense. Still not thin! Like the other vintages, a very successful reduction.

This bottling compared to the non-reduced parallel bottling RX25045. As expected, the reduced version has a lighter color depth, but still an appealing yellow gold with a brown tint. The nose is slightly floral with a subtle woody note. It feels fresh but overall restrained. On the palate, wonderfully drinkable with the nose aromas in the foreground. Plus cane sugar sweetness and towards the middle finish also some vegetal/green notes. All in all very tasty and easy to drink without losing the profile compared to the non-reduced variant. Well done and not really worse in comparison, maybe even because it comes across milder.

My favorite from WLP 2025. A perfectly controlled reduction that gives a nice balance between fruitiness and gunflint. Tasting it again a few months later, it seems much calmer, very marked by a salty note on the palate. It’s still a very good rum but it delights me less. I’d like to compare it to the 2017 reduced.

A profile of concentrated grenadine and old wood, with a soft and indulgent attack. The woodiness is well balanced, lifted by a slight touch of acidity that adds pep. Tasted at the end of the day, surprise: I preferred the reduced version, more harmonious than the Full Proof, despite its extra watts!

Amazing what the 45 can do. The first sip was like "meh", the second was "whoa". Doesn't say much... but in Franconian: "Bassd scho" (means "it's fine"). Has typical RhumRhum notes, and for the regular Otto edition a relatively long finish. Great entry into the series... if you didn't already know all the others :-)
