Velier Nine Leaves Sherry Pedro Ximénez 2020
Most enjoy the rich sherry, citrus and spice, but many feel it flattens the Nine Leaves character and the 60% ABV bites. Consensus: interesting, experimental, more for tastings than comfort sipping.
Tasters who enjoy cask‑strength, sherry‑finished rums and don’t mind the finish leading the dance over the distillery character, especially in club or side‑by‑side tasting sessions.

How does Velier Nine Leaves Sherry Pedro Ximénez 2020 taste?
Sherry‑driven, bold, experimental Nine Leaves
You’ll probably like this if you’re into assertive sherry cask whiskies or rums and are curious how that profile plays with Nine Leaves’ citrus‑vegetal DNA, even at the cost of balance.
Beginners, those sensitive to high ABV, or Nine Leaves fans wanting a pure distillery profile rather than a sherry‑dominated, slightly heavy and dry style.

Auto-translatedOh man, another really bad one. I really suspect that this stuff wasn't just finished in a barrel, but that liters of sherry were added to it. Much too sherry-dominant for me.

#5714 27.09.2025 Day one of the Whisky Live 2025, which this year looks better organized/arranged inside. I was excited about this release because lats years releases were pretty good. I did get disappointed though because I think the quality dropped quite a bit. Light fruity with some sugarcane, herbal and spice notes. The sake notes are very subtle in the profile. There is also a light medicinal touch in the profile.
