8,6:On the nose, esters, solvents, buttery, fermented tropical fruits like banana and pineapple, citrus fruits, smoky, roasted wood notes like pastry(apple pie), yeast, caramelized, spicy with allspice, briny olive, flowery molasses, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, metallic patina arises, some varnish, molasses us herbaceous, grassy with hay, sweet with honey, candied, vanilla, biscuits and chocolate join. 8,5:On the palate, the attack is medicinal with esters, slightly chemical, fruity with fermented tropical, yellow, citrus fruits, some candied molasses is vegetal with briny olive, grassy, flowery, herbaceous, a bit sweet with honey, as the wood is roasted, smoky with caramelized notes, spicy with allspice. 8,5The finish is medium long, dry&tannic, medicinal, metallic, with roasted oak notes like chocolate, confectionery, smoky, warm with allspice, molasses is vegetal, hay-ish. Velier Christina de Middel Collection: LROK 2016: A good Jamaica rum. A bit herbal and bitter, otherwise typical Jamaica aromas. 7.5 <>H 2017: Already better. The mark is very good, much more intense and astringent, very fruity, Mr. Funk is knocking at the palate door. 8.8 HGML 2018: Very smooth, much spicier, woodier and also more complex than the others. Great silky mouthfeel. 8.8 DOK 2021: Tasty, nice fruity start, but then the rum falls apart on the palate into nothingness. Velier Hampden Christina de Middel X-Tasting: Low Ester Hampden with - compared to the others - the strongest alcohol influence. Despite the longest aging, in my view the least convincing of the series.

Palette: Frugtbumpe og overvældende fantastisk funk. Explosion af let syrlig forfriskende frugt, ananas med mere. HGML RX25065: (85 point) Duft: Lak svagt vanilje fad, underbygget af fin let funk. First tasting from the sample set of the series. Haven't tried the others yet, but this one doesn't blow me away. LROK markers are there but all in all, not an LROK that will particularly stay in my memory.

Radiant appearance. Balanced nose impression. Fruity ester notes. Tasty, but not particularly complex. The palate reflects the nose well. The alcohol comes through. After the fruit some spice notes that nicely transition into the medium-long finish. Quite inviting for the next sip. Overall a great rum, but not one to fall to your knees over.

Well, a Hampden LROK without many edges and corners. In my opinion, nothing that really stands out now. You can drink it, but I wouldn't necessarily need a bottle of it. The price is a bit questionable.

A Hampden on exotic fruits, wood, and some esters. A nose that promises a beautiful depth, which unfortunately is not found on the palate. Relatively short finish. A correct and pleasant Hampden, but not very interesting.
