Then to end the day, a really tasty rum for local standards. Hampden, of course lots of ester, but also tropical fruits, here pineapple, as well as solvents and glue. That really did me good :)

Well, I gradually improve with the mark of this Cristina de Middel series. Okay. It's getting better, but the more esters, the better it tastes to me anyway. Although I have to say that this one is already good, but not something I would need.

8,5:On the nose, esters, varnish, nail polish, some rubber, fermented tropical fruits like banana and pineapple, red fruits, briny olive, pungent, slightly rotten, dairy hints, roasted wood notes like caramel, pastry, spicy with allspice, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, citrus fruits, maracuja, passion fruit arise, molasses is grassy, fresh with tea, hay-ish, chocolate, burnt sugar, caramelized, meaty, buttery notes join, some glue. 8,5:On the palate, the attack is funky with esters, glue, solvents, burnt rubber, fermented tropical fruits like banana and pineapple, mango, hintscof kiwi, red, citrus fruits, sour, olive is briny, wood roasted with roasted nuts, brown sugar, toffee, caramelized, pastry, smoky, spicy with vanilla and allspice, barrel impact is strong. 8,4:The finish is long, dry&tannic, funky, medicinal, dry, vegetal, briny, oak is roasted with caramel, biscuits, spicy, smoky, fruity with tropical, red fruits. Hampden tasting on 13.06.2026 with Mr. D Jungberg. Velier Christina de Middle Magnum Series #3 LROK RX25061: (83 points) Nose: Fresh fruity acidity, overripe fruit. Palate: Citrus pineapple light cantaloupe melon. Classic light recognizable LROK profile. Glass: Strong oak barrel scent. <> H RX25063: (87 points) Nose: Solvent and wild funk. Palate: Fruit bomb and overwhelming fantastic funk. Explosion of slightly acidic refreshing fruit, pineapple and more. HGML RX25065: (85 points) Nose: Licorice slight vanilla barrel, supported by fine light funk. Palate: Bitter fruit spiced licorice Sour fruit. Velier Christina de Middel Collection: LROK 2016: A good Jamaica rum. Somewhat herbal and bitter, otherwise typical Jamaica aromas. 7.5 <>H 2017: Already better. The mark is very good, much more intense and astringent, very fruity, Mr. Funk knocks on the palate door. 8.8 HGML 2018: Very smooth, much spicier, woodier and also more complex than the others. Great silky mouthfeel. 8.8 DOK 2021: Tasty, nice fruity start, but then the rum falls apart on the palate into nothing. DOK and I will not be friends again... 7.1 Many thanks for the samples @Skyfly

Velier Hampden Christina de Middel X-Tasting: On the nose the <>H is not yet noticeable; could well be other marks. On the palate you then massively feel the ester/solvent/glue power, everything else in the background. Not a first-class <>H, but the basic markers fit.

This <>H had too much ester and acidity relative to the fruit for me. Otherwise all the typical markers are there. Doesn't really grab me. The photo on the bottle is once again more impressive than the rum...

Tasting on 13.06.2026 with Mr. F Kraemmer. 🫡 <>H. 🇯🇲 Nose on an adventure👃: I sense solvent and wild funk. Tongue on an adventure 🥃: I taste an extraordinary fruit bump, lots of esters. Lots of funk! Slightly sour refreshing fruit, pineapple etc. The tail of the story💫: Reasonably long finish that fades away pleasantly.

Beautiful golden color, bright. On the nose fruit and funk. Banana, pineapple, glue. Seems quite harmonious and inviting to drink. Then a nice palate impression, lasting fruit notes, well supported by the enhancing funky parts. Later the influence of wood can be felt, which adds further depth. The fairly long finish starts on the ester side but then also shifts to spicy wood notes. Overall it comes across very nicely. Not an outburst of complexity or finesse, but for my taste very pleasant to drink.
