A young Philippine cane-juice pot still from a brand-new distillery, and the nose genuinely surprises people — earthy, mushroomy, fermented, with pear, dried fruit and a light woodiness. The palate is where it stumbles: hot, peppery, a bit acidic, and thinner on flavor than the nose promises. Licorice and olive show up. Clearly an early effort.

#5708 27.09.2025 Day one of the Whisky Live 2025, which this year looks better organized/arranged inside. A surprising well made rum from the Philippines. Nice fruits, spices and a light nutty touch along wood an caramel. There is a light licorice and faint coffee note in the profile as well as faint olives.

Un rhum dégusté au Whisky Live à Paris en 2025. Un premier nez pas très agréable de fermenté, de champignons de Paris. Puis la poire, la pêche et un boisé léger montent. La bouche est moyennement ample, fruitée mais avec une acidité marquée. La finale est assez courte, les fruits sont là, mais avec une acidité bien présente. Un rhum intéressant, bien que ayant quelques petits défauts.

Messetasting Whisky Live Paris. Eindrücke und Bewertung basieren auf unmittelbaren Eindrücken aus dem Tastingglas. In der Nase ein extrem vielschichtiges Aromenbild, das am Gaumen leider an Ausdruckskraft verliert. Braucht noch etwas Zeit.
