Whisky Live Paris 2025. Un nez de bois de santal, de fraîcheur mentholée et de fruits allant des fruits secs aux fruits tropicaux. Des épices de type « cinq épices » aussi. Mais ces flaveurs ne se mélangent pas de la façon la plus harmonieuse. La bouche est plus équilibrée que le nez. Au premier plan : la menthe et les fruits. Le bois est en soutient, mais assèche un peu la fin de bouche. La finale est longue, asséchée par le bois. Les fruits et la menthe sont recalés à l’arrière-plan.

#5706 27.09.2025 Day one of the Whisky Live 2025, which this year looks better organized/arranged inside. This is a very nice bottling with pretty good balance and good ABV integration. The profile is lightly dry and fruity with nice mint and dried fruit as well as faint cherry and nice wood.

Dégustation WLP 2025. Impressionnante note de menthe très fraîche, du nez à la finale en passant par la bouche (plus menthol). Le reste est plus consensuel et moins marqué ; caramel liquide, compotée de fruits tropicaux (mangue, papaye), épices vives, vanille cuite. Plus de fruits secs en bouche (cerise griotte) et orange confite. Pour les aficionados de la menthe à outrance. Je sais qu'il y en a beaucoup 😎

Un TDL qui a du coffre mais qui manque de technique. Le nez dispose les arômes mais manque de structure, on a des notes boisées, chocolatées, pimentées, des fruits éparses (cerise, abricot, pêche), du caramel et du menthol qui n’agissent pas de concert et rendent le nez assez terne et étrangement bâclé. La bouche est meilleure mais ne propose rien de transcendant. Le bois de santal domine avec le caramel chaud, les épices et les notes rôties, suivies par le menthol et les fruits tantôt secs, rouges, exotiques et acidulés. Le profil s’apparente à un mix entre un rhum hispanique et de Trinidad. L’ensemble est sec et un brin alcooleux, cela pourrait être mieux intégré, plus harmonieux. La finale est assez légère et un peu effacée, comme en retrait du reste du profil. Le bois de santal et les épices (muscade) se mettent en avant, le menthol, les fruits rouges et les agrumes sont en arrière-plan. On est en mesure d’en attendre davantage de cette cuvée, qui je dois l’admettre ne m’a pas totalement convaincu.

Un beau nez, une corbeille de fruits acidulés, des fruits jaunes, notamment de l’abricot. C’est plutôt intense, un poil alcooleux peut-être, et une finale moyennement longue. A voir pour le RQP, mais c’est bon !

Messetasting Whisky Live Paris. Eindrücke und Bewertung basieren auf unmittelbaren Eindrücken aus dem Tastingglas. Ansprechendes TDL-Release ohne Spektakel. An der Schnittstelle von spanischem und englischem Stil mit sehr zugänglichem Aromenprofil, wobei in meine Augen etwas mehr Struktur und Komplexität vorteilhaft wäre.

TDL 2010 – 67.3% Vieilli intégralement sous le climat tropical de Trinité-et-Tobago, ce TDL séduit par sa texture délicate et ses notes fortement mentholées. Un rhum taillé pour les amateurs de profils riches en menthe !
