Mint-lovers, this one's for you. This 14-year TDL from The Colours of Rum runs on a big, fresh menthol note that carries from nose to finish, backed by dried fruit, cherry, sandalwood and warm spice. At 67.3% it's hot, and a few tasters felt the aromas don't quite knit together. Others call it a lovely fruit basket with well-integrated alcohol.

Whisky Live Paris 2025. A nose of sandalwood, menthol freshness, and fruits ranging from dried fruits to tropical fruits. Also some five-spice type spices. But these flavors don’t blend in the most harmonious way. The palate is more balanced than the nose. Up front: mint and fruits. The wood supports but dries out the finish a bit. The finish is long, dried out by the wood. The fruits and mint are pushed to the background.

#5706 27.09.2025 Day one of the Whisky Live 2025, which this year looks better organized/arranged inside. This is a very nice bottling with pretty good balance and good ABV integration. The profile is lightly dry and fruity with nice mint and dried fruit as well as faint cherry and nice wood.

Whisky Live Paris trade fair tasting. Impressions and rating are based on immediate impressions from the tasting glass. Appealing TDL release without spectacle. At the intersection of Spanish and English style with a very accessible aroma profile, powerful but not overloaded.

Tasting WLP 2025. Impressive very fresh mint note, from the nose to the finish through the palate (more menthol). The rest is more crowd-pleasing and less pronounced; liquid caramel, tropical fruit compote (mango, papaya), lively spices, cooked vanilla. More dried fruits on the palate (Morello cherry) and candied orange. For the mint lovers to the extreme. I know there are many 😎

A TDL that has some body but lacks technique. The nose displays the aromas but lacks structure; there are woody, chocolatey, spicy notes, scattered fruits (cherry, apricot, peach), caramel, and menthol that don’t work together and make the nose quite dull and oddly sloppy. The palate is better but offers nothing transcendent. Sandalwood dominates with warm caramel, spices, and roasted notes, followed by menthol and fruits that are sometimes dry, red, exotic, and tangy. The profile resembles a mix between a Hispanic rum and one from Trinidad. The whole is dry and a bit alcoholic; it could be better integrated, more harmonious. The finish is quite light and a bit faded, somewhat withdrawn from the rest of the profile. Sandalwood and spices (nutmeg) come forward, with menthol, red fruits, and citrus in the background. You’d expect more from this bottling, which I must admit didn’t fully convince me.

A beautiful nose, a basket of tangy fruits, yellow fruits, especially apricot. It's rather intense, maybe a bit alcoholic, and a medium-long finish. We'll see about the value for money, but it's good!

TDL 2010 – 67.3% Fully aged under the tropical climate of Trinidad and Tobago, this TDL charms with its delicate texture and strong menthol notes. A rum made for fans of mint-rich profiles!

Nose: tosted wood, sandal, baking spices, minty, red apples, apricots, dry fruits, hint of cherry. Palate: intense, rich. Lot of dry fruits, cherry, berries, menthol, little bit of minty, grass. Punch of yellow fruits. Aftertaste: long fruity. Some mint, menthol, dry fruits, sandal wood.

I had a sample from advent calendar, but as far as I remember all Trinidad minty rums I have tasted, this one is in the top. The color is usually as honey or dark honey, nothing extra special here. The nose - I can recognize minty cherry woody tones. The palette is similar - minty, dried fruit, woody…its quite strong and even if the alcohol is integrated, it’s still noticeable…but I wouldn’t guess 67% but about 50 (yeah more than usual)..
