A rum tasted at Whisky Live Paris 2025. A gourmand and pastry-like nose, but also fresh. The wood is supportive. The mouth is more expressive and full with very well integrated alcohol. A herbal, spicy, bitter and fresh side goes well with caramel and coconut. The finish is rather long, dry and bitter with a nice milk chocolate side. At the very end the bitterness predominates. Again a nice barrel selection.

An exceptional bottling with very diverse aromas... from sweet (almost whiny) to grassy very late in the finish. On the palate it is also quite oily with very well integrated alcohol. However, due to the sweetness, it is not really my thing.

On the nose, lovely wood, caramel, nuts, and milk chocolate come to the fore. On the palate, delightfully warm; the alcohol is well integrated. Caramel, warm chocolate, roasted nuts, and wood with spices come to the fore beautifully. A nice long finish; slightly dry, but the mentioned notes linger for a wonderfully long time.

The FRC with the Tuk-Tuk on the cover was the first Thai rum that made you want more stuff from Thailand. At four years old, it is also the youngest, which you wouldn't notice at all. A very balanced easy sipper. In comparison, the LMWD is a bit wilder and more demanding. The Rumporter convinces me the most today. The finish is sweet but fits the profile overall and gives it a woody fruit note. The aromas are all very similar: vanilla, coconut, chocolate, tobacco, and sweet red fruits. Three exotics, all of which impress! Hope more will come to rum shelves soon. But with these three, you can't go wrong. 8.3 / 8.2 / 8.5

8,4:On the nose, glue and fresh, herbaceous molasses, coconut, roasted wood notes with caramel, nuts, spicy with vanilla and cinnamon, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, confectionery with biscuits arise, caramelized notes, dried, citrus and yellow fruits. 8,3:On the palate, the attack is fruity with citrus fruits and coconut, fresh with herbaceous sugar cane hints, as the wood is roasted, oily with caramel, confectionery, nuts, spicy with allspice, vanilla and salty.When the rum is oxidized, some bitterness crawls in, dried apricots, perhaps some new tropical fruits, maybe peaches. 8,1:The finish is quite long, dry, less balanced with citrus, dried fruits and coconut pairing buttery roasted wood notes, smoky and spicy, herbaceous and earthy tones with tobacco..

Very intense and complex rum. Coconut, wood, and caramel are in focus, alongside roasted notes, nuts, and dried fruits. The fresh herbal influence is interesting. Alcohol noticeable but well integrated.

#5720 27.09.2025 Day one of the Whisky Live 2025, which this year looks better organized/arranged inside. A very interesting release thinking about most rums from Thailand are sub par and usually sweet. This one is nice and peppery with some fruits, sublte wood and faint coconut.

So finally tried the three new releases from the Flag Series. The rum from Thailand surprised me the most here. I find the profile very exciting and tasty. The alcohol is well integrated and the price is affordable compared to the other two.

Tasted at WLP2025. 👃 Herbaceous, fresh, overripe citrus, lively without being biting, quite a bit of bright spice, light caramel. 😋 endemic sugar cane slightly salty, atypical. Toasted coconut, coconut pastries. Citrus bitterness, still that freshness, lively alcohol, still a bit young for me. ⛳ Nice sunny sugarcane sensation, coconut, citrus, light spice combination.

Maybe my first Thailand rum. This did sit in the glass for a good 20 minutes before the review. On the nose: Coconut, woody and roasted are the main notes, there is some caramel and vanilla notes that bring some sweetness to the palate and dried fruits. Pretty close to St.Lucia rum. Taste: Woody, roasted, burnt sugar and vanilla notes. Then you get some coffee and chocolate notes while the mouthfeel is slightly oily. Light herbal note in the background. Good integration of alcohol. Finish: Woody, roasted, chocolate notes and light coconut notes. Dry. I liked this rum, but im a little bit of confused when i compare my tasting notes to others, is this the same rum? In any case, in a blind tasting I would have guessed that this is Chairman’s Reserve or maybe El Dorado

An original and exotic Thai rum that allows you to vary the pleasures a bit. The nose offers a strange yet effective combination between pastry notes (brioche, caramel) supported by wood, and herbal notes that bring a fresh breeze to the nose. There are also many spices (chili, vanilla, pepper) but also more fruity aromas on coconut and citrus acidity. It's both indulgent and atypical. On the palate, this pastry and honeyed side brings softness and balances the fresh and bitter herbs. The profile gains bitterness and obtains more saline, more roasted notes and gains intensity. The profile is lively, with beautiful notes of lime and coconut. It's a pleasant surprise, very enjoyable to drink and with very well integrated alcohol to boot. The finish is long, still rich and ambivalent. The herbal and spicy markers do a last dance with exotic fruits and buttery notes, all with a balanced power ratio. The background thread takes a more chocolatey turn and adds something extra at the end of the mouth. A nice selection for the Flag Series that allows you to appreciate Thailand's upgrade, and all for a really reasonable price.

I don't know if it tastes like Thailand, but it's surprisingly interesting and affordable. This little juice is a real winner! It's a bit all over the place, with a lovely intensity on the palate, somewhere between caramel candy and herbaceousness... plus the big red fruits I like. Something for everyone? Certainly!

Really tasty, strong, and well-balanced rum from Thailand. Could pass as a Foursquare blind. Red fruits, lots of caramelized coconut, vanilla, a bit of sea salt, and light herbs as well as butterscotch notes. The alcohol is well integrated. Definitely worth trying!!

Caramel and wood on the nose. Some date, prune. Pours a deep maroon. A lot more wood in the mouth some cranberry, pepper on the finish. Intense mouth feel, long finish. I think this is the first I've tried in the Flag series and it's an interesting place to start. Bottle split thanks to xamsx.

Thailand 2016 - 61% With its hot, humid climate, Thailand offers ideal conditions for growing sugarcane, introduced as early as the XIVᵉ century. Although the first sugar mill was built here in 1937, the country is now the world's second-largest exporter of cane sugar. Distilled in a column still, this rum aged for four years in a tropical climate, then continued maturing in a continental climate. On the palate, there's a lovely intensity, marked by notes of red fruit. Without being transcendent, it comes off rather well and remains pleasant to taste.

WLP 2025 This was one of the big surprises at Whisky Live Paris in 2025. Usually, I don't seek out rums from Asia, but when it's signed by Velier, I try them. And here, I would very hardly recognize that it's not from Barbados, for example.
