For me personally, a rum of the better category. No artificial flavors, very woody, coffee, a good, not too spicy finish. A very good value rum for the quality.

Another product that doesn't serve the cause of rum. I haven't checked but I think this rum is artificially sweetened and colored. No interest. Caramel syrup. Vanilla. A vague taste of wood. No interest.

Got a sample of this rum from RR Tasting Club. It’s OK, but nothing more. Don’t know if there’s any added sugar, but there’s a certain sweetness. Could maybe be something for those who want to taste something less sweet than DRE or Zacapa 23.

I got this sample some time ago from RumRatings. Unspectacular rum to me… The alcohol is well notable and for 38% not integrated well. In my opinion sugar was added too! Pleasant to drink. Blind could be also a Brandy.

#6666 20.04.2026 Running some samples after my training while watching a police chase series from Sweden. This one is not something I like that much. The profile is rather roasted with dried fruits and coffee.

Pleasantly dry for a Dominican. Typical aromas for the Spanish, rather light style with tobacco, cocoa, leather, lots of wood, as well as some coconut, raisin and banana. Unfortunately, at 38% it's also very light and watery and yet the alcohol could be better integrated, which is almost an art at such a low alcohol content. Still overall a nice beginner-friendly bottling that thankfully obviously avoids sugar and is pleasantly dry. Price-performance ratio is fair.

I want to start by saying that I really don't like the bottle's packaging. I find it kind of a flashy trap to attract suckers. But I'm not a marketing expert, so there's probably a company strategy behind it that I can't grasp. Appearance: the color is very dark, maybe a bit too much for a rum like this. Nose: not very intense, dominated by burnt sugar and crème brûlée vanilla notes, with light red fruits emerging. The alcohol isn't noticeable. Palate: the same notes as before but less toasted and sweeter. Less complexity compared to the nose. Short finish. Pleasant rum, affordable.

Comparing it to the Barcelo Gran Anejo Dark this one is more woody in taste and maybe a tiny bit sweeter. I like it but it's also more expensive so i would get the Dark if i had to choose.

A nicely balanced composition of subtle fruit, some caramel, raisins, vanilla, and little wood. Less sweet than the Imperial. Overall also less profound, so for me second choice, still good.

In the nose, I primarily get chocolate; on the palate, there's a slightly bitter note, more towards dark chocolate or even coffee. A few dried fruits in the background. Not bad, but somehow unspectacular, I'd rather have the very chocolatey, creamy Barcelo Gran Anejo Dark. Drinks: - Neat: 3/5

Honestly not a bad rum; to me, it's just a lack of character. It will be good as a mixer. Alcoholes Finos Dominicanos uses sugarcane juice for all the runs they produce with a multicolumn still coming with a high alcohol rate from distillation, hence the flavor mostly comes from the barrels.

Beginning rum drinker here. I found the rum okay, lightly sweet with a vague wood and caramel taste. But what stood out most was that the flavor was quite flat and short. Not worth repeating for me.
