#5744 27.09.2025 Day one of the Whisky Live 2025, which this year looks better organized/arranged inside. This was one of my high lights of the WL 2025. A powerful rum with lots of esters and overripe/rotten fruit. Nice balance in the ABV with a natural sweetness on top.

Great nose with all the typical nuances: ester, grilled pineapple, etc. Unfortunately, the taste can't keep up. The typical Hampden markers are also found here. Especially after longer standing time, the rum comes across relatively flat. Strongly astringent. Also, I have a slight but disturbing off-note of paper, cardboard, and slight bitterness in the finish. There are better Hampdens for less money that are also available. The brilliant nose raises my rating, taste-wise rather mediocre and disappointing for a fair bottling for me.

Young Hampden that feels significantly more mature thanks to tropical aging than many continental-aged bottlings of this age. On the nose, intense fermented fruit, pineapple, banana, and typical Hampden esters, accompanied by citrus and wood, but already well integrated. On the palate, powerful and dry with fruit, spice, and a clear structure, less raw than expected. There is an alcoholic presence, but much better embedded than the age would suggest. Overall, a very expressive, serious young Hampden that clearly benefits from tropical aging.

A very tasty rum! Harmonious, complex, oily, funky, fruity, lots of esters. Overall also rather sweet, which makes it a wonderful mouth-pleaser. Great bottling, although it is priced on the higher side.

Definitely a really strong Hampden. Another full load of tropical fruit, especially pineapple and banana. Some ester is of course also recognizable. Very intense rum, full of overripe fruit, really great.

On the nose full power Hampden C<>H ... lots of esters Anna's mango, papaya and banana but also the cask comes through bringing some vanilla but also something fresh. On the palate fruity fresh funky ... a bit too much acidity with young wood. Alcohol okay but not perfectly integrated. Generally, the palate falls off for me. I find the finish good as it doesn't bring too much bitterness. From what I've already tasted, I never see a 9 before the decimal point here....😅😅

This is a really good grenade. Chapeau is all I can say. You can argue about the price, but in this day and age it's worth the money. It tastes very good to me, young and wild, certainly also a blast as a mixer

8,7:On the nose, esters, nail polish, varnish, fermented overripe tropical fruits like banana and pineapple, red fruits, flowery molasses, sweet with honey, briny olive, roasted wood notes, spicy vanilla, marzipan, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, gingerbread, pastry, cookie dough and cream toffee arise, creamy dairy tones, yellow fruits and the molasses is herbaceous. 8,6:On the palate, the attack is intense, funky, oily, slightly sweet and metallic, with esters, overripe tropical, citrus and red fruits, roasted wood notes like sour dough bread, cookie dough and yeast, smoky, meaty, spicy with ginger, as the molasses is flowery, vegetal with briny olive.When the rum is well rested, vinegar hints join. 8,6:The finish is rather long, dry&tannic, with citrus, tropical fruits, medicinal tones pairing roasted wood notes, spicy, smoky, nutty and grassy, minty molasses..

What a beautiful surprise this young Hampden C<>H is! The nose is very expressive, hyper aromatic on fruits, especially lime, pineapple, banana, mango and ripe papaya. The Hampden spirit, sometimes medicinal and fermented, sometimes gourmand and pastry-like, is also present with a plethora of rich and intense aromas. A real treat for the nose. The surprise continues on the palate with incredible drinkability. It's oily, heavy, funky, dry and so round at the same time. The rum is approachable but so dense and aromatically developed for its age, it's great cinema: passion fruit, papaya, mango, banana and pineapple mingle with esters, nail polish, solvents and glue for a rich and dirty profile, magnificent. The candied fruits, marzipan as well as the woody and vanilla nuances of the profile add a real plus on the palate. The alcohol is impressively integrated. The finish is extremely long, warm and tannic, suffocating the palate with its esters and exotic fruits with an ultra comforting honeyed touch in this herculean yet delicate profile. A superb Hampden, a monster of richness and funk that would make many current bottlings pale.

A wonderful young C<>H. A full load of Hampden on the nose... it immediately fills the room. On the palate you can tell it is young. The acidity is still quite high, but still fits. Otherwise, the classic Hampden profile here too. The same goes for the medium-length finish. A clean, high-quality bottling 👍🏻

Hardly in the glass, the scent of Jamaica fills the room. Surprisingly sweet. Lots of lacquer, crispy and tropical, totally in Hampden style. Aromas of grilled pineapple, ripe tropical fruits and in the finish a mango compote with red berries. The overripeness is very well integrated though. Despite the high esters, the rum feels fresh and lively, almost sparkling. The finish is warm and round. You can't go wrong with this.

🥃 Hampden C<>H 2021 – 65.7% A powerful rum, full of esters and ripe fruits! Despite its young age, the integration is successful and it shows a nice balance. Young but already complex – a very nice choice for a WLP bottling. The finish is also very fruity, light acidity that turns into honey sweetness.

The 4-year-old Hampden convinces despite its young age with a full load of esters and tropical fruits. There's still a lot of potential in the vintage. Slight deduction because it personally brings a bit too much acidity for me.

Tasted on the occasion of Whisky Live Paris 2025. This is a nice, intense and youthful Hampden. A lot of tropical fruits, mainly pineapple, as well as a good amount of ester. Despite the intensity the alcohol is well integrated.

The nose is typical Hampden funky with a bit of acidity. Very alcoholic. On the palate, funky mixed with alcoholic sharpness. I think the alcohol could be better integrated. The finish has long funky notes with alcoholic sharpness. Overall good but there could be more. Longer aging might be an approach :)
