#5751 28.09.2025 Day two of the Whisky Live 2025, which this year looks better organized/arranged inside. This is a wonderful and well balanced release with very good wood and ABV integration. Fruity with some light chocolate, herbs and spices.

Embouteillage ultra-premium de la distillerie, cette cuvée porte plutôt bien son nom. Le nez, souple et élégant, arbore de jolies notes mentholées et de canne à sucre, puis part vers le miel et le citron vert avant de bifurquer vers les épices (cannelle, piment et vanille notamment) et le bois légèrement rôti. On sent que le long vieillissement a porté ses fruits pour offrir un nez homogène et structuré. La bouche est tout aussi harmonieuse avec son influence d’épices (cannelle en tête), son boisé très bien intégré et ses notes mielleuses sur la canne à sucre. On y trouve également des fruits secs et des saveurs plus terreuses. L’ensemble offre une belle rondeur et un produit assez noble et complexe, avec un alcool bien intégré mais suffisant pour avoir du caractère. La finale est sur la même lignée que le nez et l’entame en bouche. On retrouve ce côté doux et sucré, le bois, les épices et le côté fruité pour une longue finale sèche et moelleuse en même temps. Un joli profil en soit, mais victime du syndrome de la jolie carafe, qui cache un prix vraiment abusif par rapport à la cuvée proposée.

Whisky Live 2025 - to be tasted again to confirm score and notes. High expectations not completely Met for this rhum. The most negative point is the astringency i found when sipping. Overall is not bad, a typical Montebello with wood and nuts.
