You wouldn't guess this is an independent bottling — it drinks like a friendly beginner rum. Sweet from nose to finish, with caramel, chocolate, dried mango and a bit of orange peel sitting behind plenty of wood and spice. At 40% it's soft and very approachable. One taster found it only worked in a cocktail; others happily sipped it and rated the sweetness well judged.

Note: Employment at Perola GmbH (spirits industry), partial professional involvement with evaluated bottlings. All ratings are my personal, unpaid opinion. Delicious very round 4y young rum from Venezuela. New edition of the old Latino, but without Guatemala. Very accessible and beginner-friendly. Pleasant notes of chocolate, tropical fruits, honey, dried mango, and coffee. Really like it! 15g sugar dosage per liter is well integrated and not too intrusive. For 26€, really a fair deal.

#5788 29.09.2025 Day three of the Whisky Live 2025, which this year looks better organized/arranged inside. This is also a very sweet rum, but it does have nice floral notes along sugarcane, caramel, orange and some chocolate.

Small CDI Core Range X-Tasting: from nose to finish very sweet/caramel with lots of wood and spices. On the nose and finish also some orange (peel), but rather in the background. For a 4-year-old Venezuelan certainly not bad, but only usable in cocktails.
