Goûté 2 fois au rhumfest et maintenant en sample. Je l ai préféré au Vulcan. On trouve dans ce rhum barbadien des Esters, beaucoup de fruits tropicaux bien mûrs , des épices douces. L aspect général est fruité funky huileux. J ai trouvé aussi une légère note de massepain. Une bonne impression générale.

West Indies has more than one still at its distillery, to say the least. This blend has a sweet soft scent, between sugarcane, honey, and pastries, supported by young roasted wood, vanilla, and medicinal nuances on the varnish and esters. Then come the fruits, especially mango, banana, and pineapple. It's a young but creamy profile, accessible and quite innovative for the distillery. On the palate, sweetness dominates with caramel, vanilla, mild spices, ripe tropical fruits, and milky flavors. Some notes of esters and varnish add a medicinal touch that sharpens the profile without stiffening it. The whole is fruity, oily, slightly acidic but very indulgent, with very well integrated alcohol. The finish, of moderate length, is marked by the creaminess of fruity, honeyed, spicy, and medicinal flavors. The little touch of citrus and esters at the end is pleasant. A beautiful product with a good quality-price ratio, showing that Old Gregg still has some good days ahead.

So now I've tried both new releases from Stades. Somehow not my taste at all. I think I won't be a friend of the West Indies anymore. This smoky reminds me always of a whisky. There shouldn't be much more dilution.

I love the story behind the stills. The nose feels a lot like your classic Jamaican, while on the palate it feels somewhere between a Jamaican and a Mhoba. Nice but could have a more distinctive profile.

Pas la peine de vous refaire l'histoire, les amis d'Excellence Rhum nous la serve si bien : "Old Gregg Fusion illustre l’art de l’assemblage en réunissant un rhum de jus de canne, issu du moulin à sucre Harper, et un rhum de mélasse provenant de Port Vale, dernière sucrerie en activité sur l’île. Les deux distillats sont passés par l'alambic pot still Old Gregg, datant du début du XXe siècle, avant un vieillissement et un assemblage réalisés à la Barbade". Là clairement, le cerveau commence à parler jamaïcain hein. Ananas, esters, une certaine acidité. Ca envoie pas mal malgré les 46%. Je compte bien m'en prendre une bouteille aussi. Papa noël si tu m'écoutes, stp fais pas le radin cette fois.

You can taste both the origin, as well as a blend and a dilution. The result of this blend is a smooth, very fruity rum that is great for beginners. It definitely should not have been diluted any stronger.

Endlich Mal wieder was probieren, auch wenn die Bewertungsoptionen irgendwie spinnen. Nase sehr fruchtig und spannend, weiß nicht ob ich auf Anhieb WIRD geschätzt hätte. Im Mund dann fruchtig mit leicht metallischen Noten? Erinnert mich irgendwie an einen Fiji Gefällt mir!

Belle surprise que ce blend pur jus et mélasse. Tout d'abord on sent le côté canne a sucre du pur jus et ensuite les aromes de mélasse. Facile a boire.

On the nose, it seems very one-dimensional and sweet to me. Luckily, the taste is a bit more complex with fruit, spices, and wood. Strong pineapple note in the finish, but the sweetness comes back strongly.

Goûté à l'occasion du Rhum Fest Paris 2026. Pas pris suffisamment de notes sur le stand Stade's. Meme profil que maître rhum de la gamme mais plus porté encore sur les esters. J'ai trouvé l'alcool pas très bien intégré et trop piquant.
