Sipped neat, this is a young, cask-strength Neisson agricole that keeps that unaged freshness: fresh sugarcane, grass, citrus and a light, elegant oak, with a slightly oily body carrying the heat. Several tasters loved the fruit and spice, but a few felt the grass runs "too prominent" and that four years is a touch young. Distinctly agricole through and through.

8,5:On the nose, sugarcane, grassy, flowery, fresh with tea, sweet with honey, roasted wood notes with pastry, dark chocolate, nuts, spicy allspice, brown, citrus and dried fruits, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, the cane is earthy, mineral, vegetal with hints of mushrooms, herbaceous, peppery, yellow, candied fruits join, caramel, anise and some glue. 8,6:On the palate, the attack is sweet with sugarcane honey, flowery, mineral, grassy, herbaceous, candied, oily with roasted wood notes like roasted nuts, pastry, biscuits, caramel, spicy allspice, anise, vanilla and fruity with citrus, dried and yellow fruits. 8,5:The finish is long, dry&tannic, with grassy, flowery sugarcane, waxy, fresh with tea, mineral, vegetal with mushrooms, peppery, roasted wood notes like gingerbread, vanilla, dried and citrus fruits. Very fresh. Glue, grass, olives. Sugarcane, little spice and wood. Complex citrus notes. On the palate very strong, much spicier. Good, long finish. A strong, young and wild Neisson with plenty of glue and citrus aromas. You can sense the potential, but simply bottled too young.

Ein Neisson der sanfteren Seite. Die Nase empfinde ich als sehr Verhalten…die Aromen muss man mehr erahnen, als dass sie spürbar sind. Der Gaumen ist da viel präsenter…weich und leicht verteilt der Rum sich und Zuckerrohr und Karamell sind erkennbar. Schnell wechselt es in eine Pflanzlich-holzige Seite..der Abgang bleibt stark auf der würzigen tanninhaltigen Aromenstrecke

#5742 27.09.2025 Day one of the Whisky Live 2025, which this year looks better organized/arranged inside. This is yet another nice bottling straight from the barrel. The good thing about these releases is that each release can be so very different from the last one. This one has very good ABV and wood integration with nice fruity and spice notes.

WLP 2025 tasting. My first SftB done. Never had the chance to taste this range, which on paper seems quite expensive for the age statement. 2021 vintage, from the Adrien warehouse, distillate of pure cane juice aged 4 years in a cask that previously held Neisson profile 105 Organic. 👃&😋 Ok, fresh, sunny sugarcane, typical of the distillery, candied citrus (light), already elegant woodiness, not too present, roasting, freshness, light brown sugar, floral aspect. Quite lively on the palate, more wood, spices, light chili, herbal and aniseed side, very light caramel, blood orange jam. Nice but didn’t blow me away.

Un nez assez typique de ce que je connais de Neisson. La canne est encore là malgré les années, de l'agrume, un boisé très subtil. Le nez est vraiment superbe. En bouche c'est un peu décevant. On retrouve les promesses du nez, avec une touche poivrée très nette, mais je ne trouve pas l'équilibre habituel des vieux Neisson. Ça reste très bon mais j'en attendais plus.

Tasted on the occasion of Whisky Live Paris 2025. Interesting nose, quite complex, it's fresh with herbal and citrus notes, but also has nutish and meaty notes. On the palate it's unmistakably agricole, it's well balanced, alcohol is well integrated. It's not my favorite style but it's well done.

On the nose, woody and floral notes come to the fore. Furthermore, it is nice and fresh. On the palate, it is also very fresh. Lots of glue, olives, citrus notes, a hint of light oak, and very grassy. Personally, I find the grass too prominent. Furthermore, a nice long and slightly dry finish.

A rather classic Neisson overall, quite good, with for once some citrus notes. I like its woody side. Slightly floral, herbal with caramel notes on the finish. The alcohol is very well integrated.

Time to celebrate holidays with some samples from some of the Neisson's latest releases. I think this rum did sit in the glass for a good 25 minutes before the review. On the nose: Fresh, sugarcane notes. Woody notes. Light grassy notes. Light citrus notes. Good integration of alcohol. Balanced. Taste: Woody and spicy upfront. Sugarcane. Citrus notes. Slightly oily mouthfeel. Light roasted notes. Balanced. Good integration of alcohol. Finish: Warm, fresh sugarcane and light grassy notes. Woody notes and light roasted notes. Good integration of alcohol and nice balance between sugarcane, wood and citrus notes. Again, nice Straight from the Barrel release from Neisson.

A 4-year-old Neisson bottled for Whisky Live 2025. Grassy Agricole notes, citrus fruits, and light wood notes. A few more years of aging would certainly do the bottling good, but potential is there.

Finally, two Single Casks Straight from the Barrel, released especially for Whisky Live: 2021 Cask 278 – 58.9%: 4 years in 600 L cognac cask, Vevert warehouse. Powerful profile, very marked cognac. Too sharp for me. 2021 Organic Cask 698 – 56.9%: 4 years in 225 L cask that contained Profile 105 Organic. More on spices and cane, and clearly my favorite of the two.

Ohhh... very tasty! Tasted together with RX25049. This one feels younger, fresher, fruitier, grassier. The nose is very fruity (citrus fruits) with typical Agricole notes (grass, sugarcane). Also honey sweetness and roasted nuts. Similar on the palate. The alcohol is noticeable. Warm, grassy finish with not too much wood.
