A blend most wouldn't expect: Cuban single cask and Paraguayan rum, each with an unusual barrel finish. It's quiet and dry, not loud — cocoa, mokka and coffee over young oak, with tobacco, pepper and a little raisin and plum. An elegant, easy sipper. The one recurring gripe: at 43% several find it watered-down and thin toward the finish.

8:On the nose, roasted oak with burnt sugar, roasted nuts, leather, cocoa, sweet, baking spices, dried fruits like raisins, apricots, dark molasses with black tea, tobacco, bump into our nosetrils.Barrel impact is strong. On aeration, the molasses is slightly flowery, orange peel and mandarine hints join, some cardboard notes, toffee. 7,7:On the palate, the attack is sweet with roasted wood notes burnt sugar, roasted nuts, cocoa, caramel, coffee, smoky, spicy with vanilla, allspice, fruity with dried fruits like raisins and apricots, orange peel, later hints of berries and quite strong cherry, some of the fruits are candied, as the molasses is thick, syrupy, dark with licorice, flowery and earthy with tobacco. 7,6:The finish is medium long, dry&tannic, with notes from the palate lingering on. Hinweis: Tätigkeit bei Perola GmbH (Spirituosenbranche), teilweise berufliche Involvierung bei bewerteten Abfüllungen. Alle Bewertungen sind meine persönliche, unbezahlte Meinung. Ein wirklich gelungener Blend aus Paraguay 7y und 2009er Cuba single cask mit ungewöhnlichen Fass finishes (Ratafia Champenois Finish beim Kubanee,, sowie französische Whisky Fässer beim Paraguay für jeweils ein Jahr). Insgesamt eher subtil, leise und unaufdringlich, dafür aber elegant, trocken und konzentriert. Eher was für einen ruhigen Abend auf der Couch oder der Terrasse. Sicherlich auch ein guter Match zur Zigarre. Aromatisch treffen hier Schokolade, Mokka und Kaffee, intensive Eichennoten, Haselnuss, Pflaume und Rosine, Zimt, viel Pfeffer und Tabak aufeinander Schön trocken und kaum süß. Sehr angenehm und ein toller, leichter Schluck, der leicht zu trinken ist, aber dennoch ausreichend komplex ist. Nur der Abgang könnte etwas länger sein...

Goûté au rhumfest Paris 2026. Encore un rhum de cette marque que j ai classé dans ceux destinés aux novices. Les notes olfactive et gustatives sont assez représentatives des Ron's style cubains , boisé pas trop envahissant, cacao café tabac.

On the nose I have white oak (young cask), toffee, some light fruits (grape, vineyard peach), butter croissant. On the palate spicy, cask. When you want to go on a journey on the palate, a strange, watery cut-off comes. That's a bit of a shame. The 43% is a bit too thin for me. That it can be better is shown to me for example by the Kaiman with 46% (to be fair, it must be said that it plays in a different league in terms of 'base ingredients').

Irgendwie verstehe ich den Hype um diese Abfüllung nicht so ganz. Er ist meines Erachtens schon ein bißchen zu arg runter reduziert, was ihn dünn und verwässert wirken lässt. Geschmacklich ansonsten o.k., mehr aber auch leider nicht.

Pleasant sipper that even shows some complexity on the attack. Towards the end, the strong dilution limits any better rating, too much is lost here due to the watery nature.
