"Coffee rum in its purest form," one member calls it, and that's the whole story here. Roasted coffee grounds and a bit of toast lead, with dark chocolate and a light smokiness underneath — but the coffee-cask finish takes over fast. A few tasters expected the smokier old Boulet de Canon and didn't find it. Easy to drink at 46%, more novelty than classic rum.

The new Boulet de Canon 15. Slightly smoky rum meets coffee barrel. The coffee dominates the taste quite a bit, although the rum is really tasty and easy to drink. But for me, it has nothing to do with the 'smoke' concept of the old Boulet series... And I can get coffee aroma more easily in my rum without coffee barrel finish. 😉 The Boulet de Canon series should, in my opinion, slowly come to an end and one should rather focus on real well-made rum without crazy experiments, although some earlier releases were successful.

Goûté au rhumfest Paris 2026. Je n avais jamais goûté les boulets de canon de cette marque, réputés pour leurs caractéristiques fumées.Dans cette version , je n ai pas vraiment trouvé ce fumé, mais plutôt du café et grillé/toasté. Une fois de plus un rhum tout public.

Smells more lile bailys - sweet, coffee and a bit of alchohol. Taste is interesting, balanced, a touch of coffee with clear rum notes but after a second or so it gets overtaken by pure coffee. Not bad but slighly too dominant on the coffee.

Coffee rum in pure form, very well balanced. Probably unbeatable for drinks like Espresso Martini. Earlier releases of this line played more with the smoke theme.
