A.F.D. Planteray Dominican Republic PX 2014
Dark chocolate and roasted wood do the heavy lifting here, with caramel, dried apricot and cherry sitting behind. The PX cask is obvious but this doesn't drink sweet — spice and oak keep it on the dry, darker side. At 48.7% a bit of heat pokes through, and a couple of tasters found the alcohol not fully tucked away. A savory, sherried sipper rather than a sugar bomb.

How does A.F.D. Planteray Dominican Republic PX 2014 taste?
Aggregated from 15 community reviews.
Dry, sherried sipper heavy on dark chocolate Well-liked but not unanimous: the sherry cask suits the base, though several find it a touch spirit-forward and rough, with spice sharpness and audible alcohol.

Das Sherry Finish dominiert schon sehr, aber passt gut zu dem Grundstoff. Insgesamt sehr stimmig.
Review by Vojta
Very smooth Dominican rum The nose appears to be sweeter than the palate. There is a lot of caramel as well as dried fruit, cherry and wood. The palate turns from the sweet side to the darker side. There is lots of dark chocolate, wood, tingling spice(I would say cinnamon) and something nutty. The fruit falls behind. The finish is medium to long. Again the dark side prevails. Lot of dark chocolate, coffee, spice and caramel. Alcohol is well integrated.
