Na ja, hatte auf einen easy Sipper gehofft, aber lag leider daneben. Ist ein sehr süßer Rum, viel Vanille, Karamell und etwas Toffee. Finde aber, dass das weiße Portweinfinish hier zu sehr durchkommt, verschlechtert diesen Rum leider ungemein.

7,4:On the nose, flowery, herbaceous molasses, earthy with tobacco, sweet with toasted wood notes like toffee, nuts, caramel, spicy with vanilla and allspice, fruit notes like dried fruits, banana, as barrel impact is quite strong, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, the rum is thin, cognac finish leaves it s mark with leather, waxy touch, green fruits join, cardboard and fresh tea. 7,0:On the palate, the attack is thin, diluted, slightly alcoholic with sweet toasted wood notes like dark chocolate, caramel, nuts, spicy with vanilla and allspice, fruity with dried, green fruits, berries, some banana and grapefruit, plum, as the molasses is flowery, slightly bitter.Cognac and port barrel impacts are obvious. 7,2:The finish is short, dry and tannic, light, with notes from the palate lingering on and quickly gone. This is the part of the cask reserved for the wine merchant Les Décanteurs. A Panamanian rum globally dominated by notes of white port from which part of the aging comes. The nose is thin and suggests a candy of caramel, toffee, nuts, and dried fruits. The wood and spices are light, all rounded with the white port dominating everything. A greedy and direct nose without much complexity. You find a thick but diluted rum on the palate, with quite a few sweet flavors that fully envelop the palate: caramel, prune, vanilla, and port form the bulk of this straightforward profile, without a big aromatic explosion but leaning towards diabetes. It's an easy glug to discover types of aging, nothing more. The alcohol is easily integrated given the sweet notes and the low base strength. The finish is quite weak but lasts longer on the port, with some traces of caramel, vanilla, and woody and roasted notes. There's not much to get out of it. A very accessible candy rum but severely lacking punch.

Verkostet neben einem Planterey Barbados Marsala cask und einem Planterey Dom Rep PX cask. Der schwächste der drei. Recht helle Farbe. In der Nase trotz niedrigem ABV recht alkoholisch. Dann süsse und florale Noten. Schon hier merkt man das white Port Fass. Dies setzt sich am Gaumen fort. Es dominieren die Port-Aromen begleitet von einer deutlichen etwas klebrigen Süsse. Der Abgang mittellang ohne Neues zu offerieren. Kann man trinken, wenn einem die Süsse gefällt. Nicht so mein Fall, obwohl ich weissen Port als Sommerdrink mit Tonic sehr gern habe.

Caramel, dried fruits, vanilla and pepper, pleasant cask influence. Overall a bit too much on the sweet side, the finish in the white port cask results in high residual sugar. Overall close to a dessert rum, but quite tasty.

Love the nose, reminds me of the rum club panama : Macadamia nuts, creamy. Port is discrete, absent. Doesn't smell alcohol. Mouth : mouthfeel watery, but at 45,4% it was to be expected. Alcohol burns for the proof. Big sweetness, very little flavour. But overall pleasant. Finish : non existent

Have to say it's really not my thing at all. For having a relatively low alcohol content, the alcohol really stands out, although it's relatively thin and watered down in the mouth. Nothing I need.
