T.D.L Plantation Trinidad Armorik Whisky Cask 2016
"Whisky finish is not my thing but this works really well," is how one member sums it up — and that's the story here. It's a light Trinidad column-still rum with mint, peach and dried apricot, a touch of dark chocolate, and an obvious French whisky-cask imprint. The classic T.D.L menthol note peeks through but stays gentle. Easy-drinking, though several tasters find it young and a bit unresolved.

8:On the nose, minty, flowery, fresh with tea, eucalyptus, sweet with honey molasses, roasted wood with nuts, caramel, spicy with allspice, tropical fruits, peaches, dried apricots, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, the whisky barrel impact is stronger, citrus fruits arise, chemical hints, chocolate and pastry. 7,4:On the palate, the attack is rather thin, a bit alcoholic with minty molasses, flowery, roasted wood notes like dark chocolate, caramel, spicy with allspice, various fruits, among them some candied, tropical, green and citrus fruits, some peaches, dried apricots, cognac and whisky barrel finish is obvious. When the rum is well rested, hints of menthol arise. 7,1:The finish is medium long, with similar notes as on the palate, dry. Edit:15.5.26

#7161 14.08.2026 Relaxing with a few rums after a slow week at work and a lot of walking. Listening to some nice trance by Avalon, GMS, Funk Tribu and Vini Vici. Not all experiments work and this is one in my mind. Luckily the price tag is low. Light rum with wood, fruits, mint, floral, spice and whisky.

Eher dezent vorhanden

Whisky finish is not my thing but this works really well.

Pocit neucelenosti. Je to moc prekombinovane.

Decent sipper
Review by Martin Ekrt
Velmi povedená vůně i přes nízké abv.
