#6636 10.04.2026 Some late evening samples that are not Dictador. Full power on Spotify with Armin van Buuren and Nishra. Pretty average bottling in my mind. The nose is fruity and has citrus, light herbs, coffee, nutts and anise. The palate is round with light wood, nutts, anise, light coconut, citrus and light herbs. The finish is medium long and medium dry with light wood, coconut, nutts, and light tobacco.

Ne dieser Clarendon ist leider auch nichts, finde das man hier zuviel Wein rausschmecken kann. Ansonsten noch recht fruchtig, auch Zitrusfrüchte sind dabei, aber auch leicht holzig, aber zu dünn und verwässert.

Even with the last sample from this Mega Planetary Split, I unfortunately don't jump for joy. Somehow, like with the others, I find the finish very dominant, the bottling feels quite thin/watery, and on top of that, the finish is very short/fleeting.

This rum is not for experienced Jamaica rum lovers. However, it is well suited to help newcomers to Jamaica get started. With an ester content of 63g, it belongs to the Common Clean class. You already get some of the fruity notes without being overwhelmed by chemical notes like glue, benzene, or turpentine. On the nose, notes of biscuit, pineapple, vanilla, and honey. On the palate, toffee, tobacco, coffee, and allspice. The finish is long with some spice and plenty of banana.

Heute neben diesem Planteray-Jamaicaner einen weiteren parallel verkostet (RX25796). Um es vorweg zu nehmen - der Hampden-Planteray ist im Vergleich zu diesem deutlich besser. Diese im Madeira-Fass veredelte Abfüllung hat als Farbe ein schönes hellbräunliches Bernstein. Der Naseneindruck ist recht unspezifisch. Der ABV ist gut versteckt. Als Jamaicaner habe ich den Rum erstmal nicht identifiziert. Der Gaumeneindrück ist auf der holzig-würzigen Seite. Leichte Trockenfrüchte/Rosinen. Die Aromatik für mich mehr Madeira als Jamaica. Der mittel-lange Abgang auf den Gaumenaromen mit einer leichten Süsse. OK - mehr aber auch nicht.
