HSE Ragtime
Most people land on "pleasant but young" here. It's a soft, gourmand agricole from Le Simon — sugarcane and vanilla up front, a light Martinique woodiness, dried fruit, and a short, slightly dry finish that a few tasters wish had more punch. One member reckons it'll "be a hit with whisky lovers." Sweet-leaning and easy, not the deepest AOC bottle.

How does HSE Ragtime taste?
Aggregated from 65 community reviews.
Soft, young agricole for beginners and mixing Well-liked as an easy, gourmand entry agricole — sugarcane, vanilla and soft wood. The common gripe is that it drinks young with a short, thin finish.
Newcomers to agricole and whisky drinkers curious about cane-juice rum

Overall an tasty and smooth Agricole. It’s a selection of agricole rums aged in new 200 liters American oak casks for 12 to 24 months. HSE is made at the distillery Le Simon which is the same distillery that produces Clement and A1710. From the distillery it’s said: “This rum will delight both in a Ti-Punch as well as in cocktails.”, but I’ve tested it neat and thinks it works well that way.

Nothing special here to tell. It‘s a young soft, thin (diluted) agricole and more recommended to beginners. Anyway, you can taste out a lot of various notes. Easy daily rum with a short and unimpressive finish.

Review by Vincent D
