Sipped neat is how everyone here takes it, and at 25 years the cask strength has calmed right down. The nose is slow — give it time and you get peaches, pineapple and honey. On the palate it's tropical fruit, burnt sugar and light wood, with just a "dezenter" ester nudge rather than a full Jamaican punch. One taster called it a real gentleman.

8,8:On the nose, toasted wood notes like caramel, vanilla, some medicinal with light esters, fermented, overripe tropical fruits like banana and pineapple, mango, citrus fruits, peaches, cherry, creamy dairy notes, sweet molasses with honey, bump into our nosetrils, intense. On aeration, molasses is vegetal, grassy, fruitcake, pastry arise, spicy allspice, some chocolate, nuts. 8,7:On the palate, the attack is intense, funky with medicinal notes like esters, solvents, varnish, some rubber, burnt, chemical, fruity with fermented tropical fruits like banana and pineapple, coconut, citrus and mango, dairy notes likecream, yoghurt, molasses is vegetal with briny olive, sweet with honey and the wood is toasted with burnt sugar, milk chocolate, caramel, pastry, caramelized, oily, spicy with allspice, meaty.Barrel impact is obvious. 8,8:The finish is long, dry and tannic, medicinal, molasses is vegetal with briny olive, dark with licorice, oak is toasted with cream toffee, caramelized, confectionery, chocolate, spicy with allspice and vanilla, warm, smoky and the fruits are tropical, melon. #6907 11.06.2026 Relaxing with a few samples after a fast 22.5 km hike. Listening to some cool tracks by Mad Maxx and Sonic Species on Spotify. A very nice bottling with a good price tag at release. Medium intense with nice sweetness, fruits, light wood, pastries, caramel light wood and spices.

Whisky'n'More Hattingen March 2026. Really a cool one, finally here :) How you imagine Jamaica, tropical fruits without end, especially banana and pineapple, (subtle) ester of course not missing :) Delicious.

In tasting after The Sins Avarice from 1983, an unfair comparison 🤷 The nose is the most complex with cherry-banana, citrus fruits, some barrel and caramel. On the palate primarily tropical fruits and burnt sugar. Medium-long finish with tropical fruits, esters, and wood.

Tried briefly with Jarek before a family outing. Probably the oldest Long Pond from RumCask. The finish in the DOK barrel works quite well here. For me a very good solid bottling, as always from TheRumCask.

A good classic Long Pond with all the expected markers and aromas. Not really outstanding, but very drinkable. However, I don't need a bottle of it, it lacks a bit of pep for me.

Nose needs quite some time to open up. But with some time it is very rewarding rich fruit notes (peaches and pineapple) and honey sweetness. Very tastey. Smooth and enjoyable on the palate. Solid amount of wood, some tropical fruits and milk chocolate.

Tried at Whisky & more 2026 in Hattingen Probably the oldest Jamaican from The Rum Cask, comes very pleasant. Not too powerful, nice, elegant representative of Jamaican bottlings. Tropical fruits with ester and slight funk, on the palate still woody notes from the cask.

Rather low ester. Rather tame on the nose. Quite intense on the tongue, a bit too sour/astringent. Fades quickly. Solid but nothing more. I don't notice DOK cask aging either on the nose or the palate.

Very interesting Long Pond. It is going into the direction of Hampden-style, nice and fruity. It is quite a "gentleman", so soft and delicate (however cannot compete on fruitiness level with the top Hampdens like some magnificent tropically aged ones). As an alone-standing rum still a "wow" from my direct impression, however in direct comparison with the other top Hampdens a still very good "8.5 points". For me it was a great buy without any regrets.
