Deep woody spice hits first, then dried currants, cherry and prunes, with roasted nuts, leather and a strong cognac-cask influence. At 62% it's warm and broad, ending dry and slightly tannic. Members call it "not for everyone" and definitely not a background pour — it needs an hour in the glass to fully open. A big, dried-fruit-forward Bally agricole for people who like intensity.

Superb nose, very rich in red fruits, mainly cherry and dried plums with wood. Taste is spicier and drier with light acidic bite.

#5849 11.10.2025 Visiting the Whisky Live Hamburg 2025 event. It was the first of its kind and went off pretty well. They still have to learn a lot about running an event like this. People were allowed to bring backpacks and even cabin bags to the event and that is a problem in my mind. This is a very nice and spicy release. Compared to the WDC release this one has far more power and spiciness. The minerality is also lower. I'd say it's not for everyone.

Tried at the 1st Whisky Live Germany and now again calmly as a sample. Nose: voluminous, intense, and full-bodied. Very woody-spicy. Old oak and sandalwood with lots of sweet, brown caramel. Nutmeg with licorice, plus baking spices and bread dough. Noble, old red wine with bourbon. It’s also fruity, with dried blood orange and sour-sweet dried blackcurrant. A wonderful nose. 8.8 Palate: Bally-typical very much on the woody-spicy side. Intense and bold. Like on the nose, old oak and sandalwood. At first salty-peppery, slightly bitter, with wood acidity, nutmeg, and a hint of anise. Behind that, sour-fruity again, dried blood orange and dried blackcurrant. Rather dry and slightly astringent. 8.4 Powerful, woody Agricole that needs some time and calm, very aromatic but not for casual sipping.

8,7:On the nose, dried currants, roasted wood notes, peppery, like toffee, dark chocolate, glue and polish, cherry, flowery sugarcane, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, dried fruits like apricots, raisins and prunes arise, citrus hints, roasted nuts, walnuts and some confectionery.The mood is 'dark'.😄 8,4;On the palate, the attack is slightly imbalanced, intense with spices and roasted wood notes like walnuts, leather, cocoa, some juniper perhaps, later coffee, dry&tannic, some rubber pops out, fruity with prunes, dried currants, grapes and cherries.Cognac barrel impact is strong.The sugarcane is flowery and mineral....Some bitterness crawls in on oxidation. 8,5;The finish is long, dry and tannic, oaky, more balanced as the palate, as the same notes linger on for a long time..

Edit: Added a photo. Let this rum sit in the glass for a good hour and its going to open up On the nose: Intense. Roasted. Woody. Spices like black pepper in the background. Under that there is some dried fruits and herbal or maybe floral notes actually. Taste: Intense at first, but quite warm mouthfeel after that. Woody. Roasted. Spices like juniper and little bit of pepper. Dried fruits. Abv is integrated very well. Finish: Woody, spicy, roasted, mineral and little bit of cherry notes. Medium-long finish. This just isnt in the level of WDC, althou totally different flavour profiles. This one was leaning more to woody and spice notes.

And then we have two Agricoles. Very good, nothing to complain about, definitely recognizable as Agricole thanks to the spiciness and woodiness present here. A bit of pepper can still be detected on the nose, a bit of leather on the palate.

Ein herrlich kräftiger, würziger Brut de Fut mit ausgleichenden Trockenfruchtaromen. Zusätzlich nehme ich eine zarte Kirschnote wahr. So muss es sein.. das ist genau mein Geschmack. Da ist J. Bally eine richtig gute Abfüllung gelungen.

Bally 2009 again, but this time at a whopping 62%. The nose is correspondingly voluminous. Very inviting aromas. The palate also has plenty of power, the abv is noticeable but still within limits. As in the BdF, there's plenty of cherry here, but also lots of berries. I like it much better than the Brut de Fut. Beautiful Agricole.

A really well-balanced Agricole with dried berries and prunes, intense spices, and strong roasted/woody aromas. On the palate and finish, very strong tannins which do not harm the quality.

Lots of power in this J.Bally with 62%. Expressive wood with cherry, dried currant, polish and nuts. A bit of resting time brings more dried fruits and nuts as well as sweeter notes to the nose.

Fantastic rum! My Christmas present to myself this year 🎄🎁 The color alone is amazing, a deep red, pure mahogany. Then there's the crack of the wax — the guys at Bally really fill the bottle to the top! The neck of the bottle is filled right up to the cork! The aroma that wafts out after pouring is almost aphrodisiacal—woody spice, dried red fruits, mineral notes of fresh grass and sugar cane, a little polish and dirty impressions of brush cleaner. It really takes off on the tongue and palate, the 62% ABV provides the necessary punch, and it dances tango on the taste buds! You have to savor it for a long time and work out the flavors. Definitely not for beginners, but if you like it more intense – just right. Great bottling, I'm considering buying another bottle.

On the nose it's extremely expressive and intense, with wood, red fruit, toast, leather, spices, sweets, floral notes, and dates. On the palate it's warm and broad, where dried fruits, red fruits, wood, and pepper/chili come to the forefront; accompanied by a sweetness/cane base, floral notes, and a fairly persistent dry finish. At first it might seem like cherry but it's something else, the scent of sour cherry prevails, then comes that tangy note with a finish that leans towards licorice. Fantastic, different from the usual Ballys

Note: Tasting took place in the cigar lounge of BIX, Stuttgart. Some subtle, elegant notes might have been overlooked due to the environment. Already when pouring, an abundance of aromas spreads through the nearby area, something I’m not used to from Agricole. This is very promising, Kirsch wouldn’t pick junk either. On the nose surprisingly accessible quite quickly, with dried berries, intense wood notes, and a certain pepperiness alternating. The usual plant-like notes typical for Martinique rum were otherwise pushed back by the 15 years of aging. On the palate quite symmetrical to the nose, but whoa, the alcohol makes a clear appearance. Then surprisingly astringent on the tongue for the declared aging in American oak; I would have at least temporarily speculated on French cask influence. Finish is long and intensely woody. A great rum for fans of aged Agricole who can handle the occasional alcohol bite. 10/26 in Stuttgart
